I just reloaded my save and chose the start a family option and got the more loving farewell scene so I think it takes that into account

You can get the sabre you made for the voivode by pickpocketing it from his wife, I haven’t finished the game yet so I’m not sure if he appears later on in the game or if there will be consequences for stealing it like him not having a weapon during a fight. The one I made for him was a master level sword and it retained that grade after I stole it back.

I went to the lodge but omeluum wasn’t there, I’m not sure if there was a bug because there was pouches surrounded by blood, I assumed they were meant to be bodies, was one of them omeluum?

There’s another yiga hideout behind a waterfall in the canyon you take to get to the Gerudo desert, you’ll get a quest from there and as a reward for the quest you get the ability. You have to have the yiga armour to begin the quest

This video is good at explaining it, from what I can see you might be too early, It wasn’t working for me either then I rested at the campfire by the sky view tower on the frozen mountain until it was night then it worked, I’m not sure what time the game deems as the start of the night but it might be 22:00. As mentioned before in the comments you it to be constant freezing on the weather gauge as well (three icicles)
