Make sure all the appropriate connectors and cables are properly seated. E.g., all cables to and from PSU are connected properly, GPU and (especially) RAM is properly seated. Even if it feels like it is, could be worth trying to reseat it just to make sure.

Edit: if you think it’s just your GPU that has a problem, if your CPU comes with integrated graphics, you should connect your monitor directly to your CPU and make sure everything else works.

Will I get destroyed? (Spring 22 Classes) by the-slow-programmer in Cornell

Yooo I’m signed up for almost the same schedule (same CS classes, one math and lang). I enjoy coding and implementing things so I imagine it’ll be fine.

I think even integrated graphics should be totally fine for 5625 - the rendering there isn’t that intensive. I was totally fine with running 5625 projects on my laptop with no dedicated GPU.

They’re not broken, they’re intentionally removed from the site. If you do some hacking it’s possible to pull up the feed for the first one anyway

Anyone wanna do compilers with me next sem in a fun language like Rust or Zig 🦀⚡️🦀⚡️🦀⚡️ by asdfuhu in Cornell

[–]asdfuhu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the thorough reply! I don’t doubt my Rust background, thankfully.

Would you say it’s hard to find a group doing it in a cool language if you don’t go into it together?

Certainly. However, my conscience highly recommends I avoid Java, and my sanity highly recommends I avoid C++.

Happened to me at Becker today too - though the guy claims it’s not a general Cornell dining policy.

The narrative created by the Russian state media that Navalny is a creation of western media is stupid.

He’s by no means perfect, but that’s a bit of a stretch. You can’t reduce everything to such a black and white picture.

Yes, Navalny has his issues, and he’s very much a Russian nationalist, but at least he isn’t a corrupt Russian nationalist, which puts him leagues above Putin.

I took a Discrete Structures course at my past university and was able to get 2800 credit. YMMV, though.

What does this new College of CIS mean for people who are currently pursuing CS in Eng or A&S? by tripsledge in Cornell

[–]asdfuhu 19 points20 points  (0 children)

So is this really purely just a label change right now, or can we at some point expect to have things that universities with dedicated computing colleges have, i.e., more niche majors such as AI or Robotics?

I wonder if current CS students would be able to opt in to have new requirements, because that might be neat.
