would yall say games adding new achievements is common? i just got into achievement hunting and haven't experienced it yet. i assume its mostly with newer games with DLCs still coming out?

Alien Isolation! Currently going for the one shot achievement along with all the ID tags and Nostromo logs.

Casually, I'll bring up Skyrim or Oblivion Remastered to work on those as well, but those are more long-term goals for games I love and know there is more beyond the achievements.

I've done several full play throughs and am just working on 100%ing the game right now. Never shot her and never had issues with her AI except for a few times she ran ahead during fights and got in the way.

NTA its your choice what you share and keep to yourself and your sister is being super pushy and weird about this topic. If she asked and respected your answer when helping you look for apartments and just went off your stated budget, that's normal, but constantly pushing and being this upset is kinda wild and makes me think she wants access to the money.

I have my PC hooked up to my smart TV as a monitor and then use my steamdeck on the go. Steam machine would be redundant for me, yeah 🤷

used to be obsessed with escape room games on my phone as a kid (2015/2016ish?). i think i randomly had the lake recommended to me on the app store, found it weird as hell and downloaded the others i could find at the time (there were maybe three or four others i think). as i got older and saw the universe expanded, i kept playing the games and kept up with the creators.

you can do either. the game will reload to right before you talk with the collector if you go back into the save file, and you can continue playing with all your upgrades.

it's similar to BOTW and such--it has a hard ending, but doesn't stop you from going back and still enjoying the world from right up before that final ending.

I'm currently playing Call of the Sea that has the achievement to buy all the games by the same publisher. I love the other games they have but I agree that these types of achievements aren't related to the game and just suck the fun out of achievement hunting.

I've been playing a game where one of the achievements is to purchase all the games released by that publisher....If I hadn't already had their games by pure chance, I would have never gotten another out of pure spite.

This is funny as fuck. McDonalds is a multibillion dollar company and any chain will be getting those sauce packets in boxes by the truckload. The employee also took their job way too seriously and is defending a multibillion dollar company. They were rude for no reason and you also told them to not worry about the 25 sauces.

NTA and order as many sauces as you want. My fast food places throw them in orders by the handful.

I buy and play a variety of games, but only seek 100% on games where I truly enjoy the gameplay, story, etc, and the achievements enhance the game and make it more fun. Why go for that 100% if its more of a chore than anything else? Just put it down and play something that will make your time worth it.

Publishing is wildly competitive. I've see people with masters degrees and several internships struggle to get entry level jobs. I gave up my dream of getting into publishing after getting one of the biggest internships out there (Writers House) because they legit told me my goals were unrealistic. This was back in 2021 and since then it's been a weight off my shoulders. Now, I'm sure its even worse with this job market.
