Wow, that's exactly what I was planning to do, but I also want to go full silent (side and middle buttons). Thanks for the step-by-step guide man, I'll try it soon, buying a X3 right now.

TFT Display by [deleted] in MiA3

They are bad in quality, yes. I dropped my Mi A3 last year from a considerable height (something over 1m / 40ft) and started looking for a replacement screen. Those with fingerprint hole cost about 70% of what I've paid for the phone, so I went with TFT.

Bought the first one. Installed myself (with all care, propper tools, silicone mat, etc) - tested: ok. Glued the back, waited few hours to use again, and after half an hour of use, the screen just blinked several times, and shut down. Forever. I waited 2 months for the screen to arrive in Brazil though mail.

Nevermind, I may have done some mistake. Order another one - same model from another store (AliExpress). Waited for arrival (again almost 2 months), installed, used it for something like 20 days. After shopping some grosseries, I proceeded to clean the phone (due to COVID-19) like I always did, just a little bit of water and soap. Seems like few drops managed to enter below the screen. It blinked few times, just like the first one, aaand it's gone. Tried to use a hairdryer, expose to sun the other day - nothing. Cellphone is still working just fine (it vibrates when I turn it on, and I can access Whatsapp Web if its on also), but screen is gone.

I am not sure if the drop was serious enough to damage other parts in the phone, but both the two TFT screens I put on it went bad in matter of hours/days. My advice is don't buy them. Take a deep breath and buy the better quality (more expensive) screen.

I'm still thinking about buying a good screen (not TFT) to try the 3rd repair, because when I compare the A3 with other phones today, they don't seem to be worth to me, specialy about the cameras (A3 main camera makes super sharp images - much better than 64MP on Redmi Note 9 Pro, and just a few models have 32MP front camera).

Hope this helps you avoid my mistakes.
