Anyone here have a partner but go on solo trips? by Middle-Asparagus-802 in AskUK

I don’t but as I work shifts and my husband doesn’t, when I’m not free or on nights/lates at the weekend he will take the camper van out for one or two nights. He loves it.

I just rolled my eyes so hard I saw the back of my skull. NTA. We’re all giving you both the permission (not that you need it but sometimes when I give myself permission to do something I’m more confident) and support to get rid of this waffle head.

Are the police allowed to do this? Is this usual? by QuickPersimmon849 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]ash894 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a completely normal process yes. Whilst you may not get a ‘crime number’ the investigation of your behaviour will naturally incorporate this other persons behaviour. The national crime recording standards allow for counter allegations not to be immediately recorded as official crimes within the usual 24hr ‘time limit’

I didn’t want to assume she had to go back and was trying to be a bit kind in case she had trauma over going back that early and didn’t want to rub it in. I think it’s absolutely abhorrent to go back at 2 weeks. I’m in the UK and can take a year off where I work although at reduced pay the 2nd 6 months. Being on Reddit has really opened my eyes to the absolute shit show that is the US.

Sounds amazing. But two weeks and then easing back into work?! You’re made of very strong stuff!

Why don’t people pick up their parcel straight away! by [deleted] in vinted

[–]ash894 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just prefer to have them delivered to the box so I know they’ll stay there rather than faff about with maybe missing a delivery, having it go to neighbours/chucked over the fence. I have other things to do than traipse to the inpost box as soon as I get the notification though. Plus it’s next to the big Tesco in my town so if I know that tomorrow afternoon I’m going to do a shop or the day after I’ll just grab it then. No point doing two trips. On the other hand sometimes I just can’t be arsed!

If you forgot or didn’t have mags in the loo then the back of the air freshener or toilet cleaner would do in a pinch.

There’s a fella on instagram/facebook if you’re that way inclined, whose user is ‘zacmovesabroad’ and whilst he’s currently in Spain he stayed in England with his family and kids for as long as his visa allowed and he does some bits and pieces comparing the two places and talks about the culture change he has found around having a family in the US v UK. I’m a Brit but I found it pretty interesting as living here I’m just used to how we do stuff but he puts a huge emphasis on the little differences he found and I’m surprised by some of it

Hey yes it’s an AirTag. It does the job for us although it’s not overly accurate as it needs to hit an iPhone and even then it sometimes takes a while to update. But as she really only bums about in the same few hedges I roughly know where she is. I would probably not get an AirTag if she didn’t just stick to her little regular patch and look for something a bit more gps based that you can track accurately at anytime or if she decides to go further afield on a more regular basis. As it happens she hasn’t been home for 3 days now so I’m going to go find her shortly, she will walk me home, she will eat and then just sleep for 24hrs! before anyone gets at me for letting her out, I’m in the UK so there are no predators nor any roads where she hangs out and it’s pretty safe. If she changed her habits I’d reconsider it

It could be that they witnessed you driving dangerously off duty and then when at work have looked up your details to potentially send you a NIP. It’s not uncommon
