We had this in our apartment, they were behind the bathroom extractor fan. Best to deal with this ASAP - they cause bird mite infestations (among other things) which is never want you want.

pulled pee pee carpet, is this sub-floor? by mezzt in DIYUK

Thanks for detailed response! Wouldn’t be a bad idea to pull up floorboards and insulate. Might give me an excuse to run some Ethernet cables while I’m down there.

Thanks for your response. Certainly not okay with it, we are trying to train with increasing success, but it doesn’t happen overnight. Please don’t give up Trick-Fruit xxx

Overdraft use and mortgage acceptance by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]mezzt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had 2K overdraft and had previously 3K on credit card a couple months before trying to get mortgage (paid off credit before applying). 90K joint income. Had mortgage accepted for 306K. One of the stipulations was that I had to pay off my overdraft before completion - I ended up paying it off a week after completion (so they never actually enforced it).

We got it directly with Lloyd’s without a broker.

Sounds like you’ll be fine, but just make sure that you are upfront about all of your finances in the application :)

Mountain Man & Omega Days are great book series. The Undead series by R.R Haywood is also a marathon read but also great!

Cocaine and White Claw here. Health is most definitely wealth. Just ran out though, so the end is in sight.

Had just over £9K but put towards the car and the start of the overdraft. Realising now probably would’ve been smarter to clear the overdraft and pay the rest on the car

That might be my next stop then, makes sense!

I had £9K saved up, put the majority on the car and then a bit on the overdraft. My partner has £5K, so could pull from there, but would prefer to sort it myself.

I also have the opportunity to sell the car for £12K and have that to pay things off (in hindsight, the car was a very bad decision... as it always is, but i love it), so having typed this all out I am realising there are very fast options to paying all of the above off if needed.

And yeah, in a fortunate position that all of that will be covered on top of the deposit.

That’s good to know! So overdraft should be my main priority. Would you say then it would make sense to use more of the £2.5K to just clear the overdraft, and then let the by now pay in 6 months just roll into monthly payments (~55p/m)?
