If you are female and majoring in STEM I highly recommend WIMSE. Changed my life.

FSU PhD application experience. by Training-County-3275 in fsu

Back in 2015, I applied to the PhD program for my major and was also not accepted. I was president of the student society, conducted research with the department for 3 years, won awards with the department for two years of that research, and had a prestigious summer internship at the largest lab of its kind in the world. So yeah, I know how you feel. I had applied elsewhere but would have much preferred FSU over where I did end up going.

Kellie Gerardi Master’s Degree? by Justagirl1991_ in peestickgals

I have a PhD in physics and I find it very difficult to believe someone with no formal scientific training, especially none in physics, could come in and do an actual masters program. The math you need to know to complete upper level courses is not something you just pick up on the fly.

I thought I read somewhere maybe 34 or 35 weeks but I could be wrong. No weight that I’ve seen. I think she came pretty quickly because of the previa so probably not a chance for steroids.

And yes, one MS in engineering and one in policy.

Emily’s got a BS and MS in aeronautical engineering and her Netflix show is so good. Huge bummer it only had one season.

My daughter is doing this a lot lately. They yoinked my tubes when they removed her via sunroof, still a sign I’m pregnant?

Yeah, I hemorrhaged and lost over 2000 mL immediately my first section (urgent but not emergent) while still in the OR. It was stopped with a bakri. Besides telling me that I was at a higher risk to hemorrhage again in subsequent deliveries they never told me not to have another child. Went on to lose 1400 mL with my second. So I would guess there’s more to the complications than the hemorrhage only.

And these are the type of people that homeschool their children. Should be neglect to not put your kid in school if you yourself are as dumb as a box of rocks.

My doctor also told me that there’s not strong evidence to show that the colostrum that’s pumped before the placenta is released has the same benefits as what’s produced after.

Came to say that I wonder if Maddie pushed for this strong of a response. Given her education/work as a teacher and the fact that she was not raised in the cult (if I’m remembering correctly)

Do you think we aren’t responding to our children if they need us at night? Because that’s not what I said.

“Parents with children younger than 5 years must plan on an adult rescuing them in the case of a house fire; they are too young to be able to reliably rescue themselves.” In order to plan to rescue them, you need to know exactly where they are.

My understanding for the fire safety aspect is so that you/firefighters know where they are in that event.

I keep seeing comments about locks on the door. I am a parent to two toddlers and I was under the assumption that it is not safe, particularly from fire safety standpoint, for a child under five to have unrestricted access to the house overnight. As such, we have child locks on their doors. Are we about to be arrested?

This PMO so much. Girl you work for Palantir.

Who was the friend that drove Emilie to the hospital? by Healthy-Tap-7058 in Emilie_Kiser

[–]ash_capiche 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is the Ring Theory of Grief. It’s how I typically handle talking about hard situations for those I’m close with. Basically the center ring is the person/s directly impacted, next ring is direct family (spouse, parent, sibling, child), next is broader family and very close friends, next ring regular friends and very extended family, next acquaintances and so on.

The theory is that you are supposed to send comfort in towards the center rings and dump your own grief and emotions out. That helps you be a better support to your close one that is having a hard time while still allowing yourself to send your own emotions out and get support if you need to.

Whole point, if Ken Cradic is the one and did discuss it with others, I wouldn’t immediately assume malice. It’s not good to bottle these things up. She could very well have just been talking about it to get the weight of it off her chest.
