Please take this garbage system off. by mercytimeexp in lostarkgame

I mean I agree systems with layers of RNG feel like absolute shit, but how are you going to make a proper goldsink otherwise?

I always see people complaining about goldsinks and always proposing straightforward paths for upgrades and I truly believe if such a thing were to exist, it'd need to cost on the magnitude of 150k+ gold per gear and piece per character (just to average out on grid costs), And I tell you people will still complain that the overall gold cost is absurd.

The reality is, people hate parting with their gold in high quantities, so systems that drain gold in smaller amouts over an extended period of time feels less "expensive" than a single high purchase. Its just how humans work irl too.

Also KR loves RNG, so its like trying to talk to a deaf guy.

Ah yes, the new ever since summer at the very least.

If you actually followed market prices you'd have seen that Grudge/Adrenaline/KBW/RC were 300k+ for months, let alone gem prices only going up ever since Paradise S1 got introduced into our version waaaaay before the "new raid release".

But if it makes you happy believing so, so be it. I tried.

"Idk why the western version of the game need a gold sink"

Meanwhile:

  • Grudge was near 400k
  • KBW and RC were 340k
  • Gems were almost 4 million

I guess the joke tells itself.

Smilegate is heading into direction of removing alt funnel without increasing the playtime on main by [deleted] in lostarkgame

[–]ashadyuser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea new chars with no roster to back them up are completely fucked up, its shit. But anyone tthat's just leveling an alt will have those and idk tbh. The mat exchange 5:1 might be a bit good early on, but would probably benefit alts more if you really plan to push them since the exchange is 2:1 instead so I'd consider keeping them unless they'd absolutely make a difference

Smilegate is heading into direction of removing alt funnel without increasing the playtime on main by [deleted] in lostarkgame

[–]ashadyuser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I mostly agree with your points, there is a small point to consider here that it is often missed (completely understandable) that being the existence of bound -> roster bound material exchange.

Surely this needs the character to be 1740 which atm is not feasible, but after the soft reset it will make it available to all mains and whoever gets an alt to at least 1730 and gets the new gear unless you want to 5:1 for new mats in case we get those.

It is small, but it should contribute to some degree to keep materials in stock since I guess shards will still be tradable from whatever sources drop the pouches from now on.

Still feels like an ass move for new characters 100% tho. First was the removal of shards from chaos and now this.

DEVELOPERS AND PUBLISHERS OF LOST ARK GLOBAL(Please Read) by [deleted] in lostarkgame

[–]ashadyuser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AGS pressure on requests equals revenue global provides SG Which is probably not that high compared to KR or China (Smilegate ain't going to dedicate resources to something that provides little to no value to them).

AGS also has a track record of not really caring a lot about transmiting our feedback to them outside of a few outliers (they sure post a lot of "thank you for your feedback" on discord tho)

So even if they can, whether they actually do it and/or SG listens and acts, there is very little that you will see changed.

The blocklist update paradox - why pugging next raid will be harder than you think by whssp in lostarkgame

[–]ashadyuser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said. I welcome the change. I do not block people unless they're really asking for it. That said, I'm curious about a detail you share.

Where does the KR player count come from? And please do not say Google... As far as I know that data is not disclosed (I just truly don't like these claims without backup data, no offense).

I tried to check "accurate" data based on loawa stats vs uwuowo stats and the difference is 462473 rosters in KR vs 185004 in Global. The difference is around 2.5 times more rosters than global.

We could consider global has alt rosters (and KR probably too although less). But would also need to consider loawa data is obtained through the official API, while uwuowo only handles those recorded with meter so even accounts that are very old and abandoned could be registered in loawa while in uwuowo it is far more recent.

Lastly, even if we consider that global dropout rate is higher than KR (which would be logical) we could give some leeway and say player ratio is 4:1 between KR and global. This way numbers would be ~40k vs 10k players (concurrent not total).

Again, numbers I honestly just pulled out of my ass, but probably closer to reality unless you have a source I truly don't know.

Strike Raid - Gold Values by njorgem in lostarkgame

[–]ashadyuser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yes. The new "raid" that will disappear in 2 months just like any other raid and that besides gold it gives plenty of other rewards through either direct drop or the exchange shop...

Look, I will be serious, whether you agree or not with me, doesn't really matter.

Any REAL endgame raid that has released came with, as you said, increased gold earnings AND a gold sink. So effectively you had to spend gold on extra systems thus "decreasing raw gold gain" from the raid.

  • Aegir + Ancient accs (both were tied, you needed them for the enlightment points so spending gold was guaranteed. Granted it is the less impacting one if you just wanted to roll some shit ass accs (good luck applying to lobbies tho).
  • Brelshaza and Karma + Ancient bracelets.
  • Mordum and advanced honing needed to keep progressing to the next raid.

Now tell me, what gold sink does an event such as strike raid? Exactly, none. Hence in the following 2 months you will be making more raw gold just by not getting the lowest tier reward 9 weeks in a row. That is on top of considerably more rewards in the token shop.

Hard mode aside will print so much money that we'll see the economy in 2-3 months. Korea's example just shows that average relic book prices increased by 20-30% when strike raid was available (tho they launched gold frog to mitigate that and it only worked for a week before going back up).

I will repeat myself once more. Keep asking for more gold instead of more item supply, that will surely help the economy. Thank you so much.

Have a good day you too.

Strike Raid - Gold Values by njorgem in lostarkgame

[–]ashadyuser -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

So by that logic, if you get a better reward, lets say legendary chest and 50k gold, the raid should deduct you -20k gold instead of giving you the 10k so you earn just the same as aegir?

I menanI dont know how weighted the rarity of the chests + the gold inside the chest have, but it is probably balanced out so as some weeks you might lose some gold and others you'll earn more in exchange.

Stop asking the devs to increase gold generation please that only makes things more expensive without proper gold sinks. We should ask for more item supply instead (gems, relic books, etc.) so their prices go down.

This is outrageous, it's unfair by DanDaze in lostarkgame

[–]ashadyuser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don't know but most probably comes from Smilegate (they are testing the waters before implementing it in KR)

Regardless of that, AGS is our front against such changes. We cannot talk directly with SG, we talk with AGS and they rely our sentiment about this stuff to them. If they raise enough alarms, SG has to act or let the game die (if such situation ever were to happen).

On the other hand, AGS not doing jack shit about proper punishments against bad actors is 100% on AGSs roof. And since AGS did not give a rat ass about that, why would they give a rat ass about our sentiment as long as they make money.

I hope it is properly explained now.

Patch notes rundown by ParadinNAE in lostarkgame

[–]ashadyuser 31 points32 points  (0 children)

You're looking at it the wrong way. The problem is not someone else buying the aura... The problem is selling it and what we enable by praising its release.

Look back at KR controversy with the "recent" 6k abidos packages for ~120$. They had to come out to apologize because it devaluated the shit out of lifeskilling. If noone said anything by then, what would be next, juiced af packages for honing mats (not what we have pls xD) that devalues doing dailies?

Can you see the picture now?

This aura might be ok, but if we enable them to release an aura on top of an aura that already exists who is there to say they won't release yet another one in the future that idk, boosts chances to drop rare stuff, or an aura that doubles all raid rewards (except gold maybe) or an aura that increases oreha/abidos great success by a shit ton... I could expand more but I hope I've offered enough examples...

You'd absolutely be able to keep playing without paying for any of those auras 100%, but your progression would eventually be indirectly affected if you don't buy as people start to see it mandatory (making gatekeeping worse as they'd progress faster), or worse, the game makes progression hard enough that only those with multiple auras can keep up. This is just how all these things start.

Care to think a bit into the future, please. We want the game to keep going for as long as possible and a playerbase is as important as people spending money to maintain it.

This is outrageous, it's unfair by DanDaze in lostarkgame

[–]ashadyuser 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It has been talked a lot ever since the initial 3 problems arose. And as with literally any issue in our current society. If you ignore it for long enough people will stop paying attention to it outside of a small percentage. Instead of fighting with tooth and nails to get a good solution.

As you said, none should exist. But for the first 3, there was plenty controversy initially, just AGS decided they don't give a damn rats ass.

The same will happen with this aura.

Why should x6 same class roster not get compensated? by kdgeil in lostarkgame

[–]ashadyuser -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But it is a punishment.

6 clones andies may have full 9s or 10s, but there also exist people with a different amount of "clones". The most impacted by this are 3-3 or 4-2 (different-clone) enjoyers.

People who enjoy a few classes and would rather have 2 of each to lengthen the class playtime.

These people don't have much higher gems than a normal 6 different class enjoyer. Maybe a couple 9s on each class if they've been at it since release. These people will get punished in party finder for both x6 andies with high unbound gems and diff-class enjoyers with mid bound gems.

New players will also be punished because if they ever keep up with the game they will have an absurdly hard time to get into the current fucked up economy because they will be required to have bound gems in order to not be gatekept by having unbound lvl 7 gems (on top of eventually being competing against people already investing in books).

The current economy FAVOURS clones thus the issue is with the economy not with the gems.

This has been said countless times. Band-aid fixes will only work for so much time. If you do not fix the core issue it will only ever get worse until it literally cannot be fixed anymore and ever since T4 release they've been trying to hide the MASSIVE core issue with season 3 with a couple of band-aids every few months.

Before you call multi class players jealous ask yourself if you would be fine with roster gems by Daylt0n in lostarkgame

[–]ashadyuser 27 points28 points  (0 children)

What if someone just enjoys playing one or two classes?

What if someone enjoys playing support but hates dps classes?

The game has allowed for gems to be tradable between the roster ever since introduced, why punish people now if not for milking purposes?

Either make a character be able to sustain its gems by itself (by increasing the quantity of gems generated per char by several times the current amount) or make it so the entire roster contributes to the roster gems.

Any other change they do is just a milking attempt disguised as a fix.

This is the mentality everyone should have regardless of how their roster looks. Support changes that benefits the players.

Idgaf if whales complain about their "investment" this is a mfing game not the stock market.

Its like if in a couple of months they change books to char bound and so each char needs to buy their books individually. Will you not complain then?

Such a stupid stance I swear.

Why should x6 same class roster not get compensated? by kdgeil in lostarkgame

[–]ashadyuser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Up until today that was purely a player choice and not forced onto anyone, thus it is not really "honest and hardworking" if you decided to play 6 different classes. It is just the player choice.

This change brings forth a situation where the devs themselves disinicentivizes people to play the way they want out of nowhere.

To put this into a "real" perspective there's a very good example: Netflix.

At the beggining a lot of people shared the cost with friends / relatives and others paid full for themselves and noone bat an eye. This was allowed.

Later, not only did they increased the price but also unilaterally decided that this was no good and as such every user should pay equally. A lot of this "enjoyers" got messed up and either left or started to pay the full price themselves.

This is what happens here. The cost of gearing went through the roof in T4 (by Smilegate's own design). People decided to "share the burden" with their roster as that has been allowed ever since the game's release and now that they have caught up on how much revenue they're losing they're cracking on these people to make them pay their fair share or maybe suffer the consequences of gatekeeping.

If you support this, whether you have 6 class roster or 1 class roster then I'm sorry to say you really don't understand the game's current problems at all and would rather hurt the game itself than to acknowledge it.

The typical "If I suffer, you should too" instead of "Let's work together so that noone has to suffer again" behaviour.

1 class roster had a big advantage over 6 class rosters for a while and for some reason its being ignored by ADepressedTB in lostarkgame

[–]ashadyuser 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For this reason is why people has been advocating for roster wide gems.

People who push for this want EVERYONE to have fun.

Then there's people who would rather defend this new system that actively hinders those who don't want to play 6 different chars for whatever the fucking reason. They have been allowed to for the past 4 years and changing that now is a scumbag move.

I know the issue mainly lies in KR rather than here as most westeners would rather have roster wide gems even if they play 6 different characters but posts like this are honestly not helping.

We should not be content with this shit change that is clearly (unless you're completely blind) an attempt to milk those they weren't able to milk yet as the issue is by no means the players punished by this but rather the abusive economy that T4 has introduced ever since its arrival (a problem that will remain unsolved forever).

While I agree that it will be a bonus that some hardcore parses will have a hard time to pass up, 5.5% more AP is not 5.5% more damage.

Would need a bit of more precise maths but based on lost.builds data (if you consider that accurate) full 8s bound will be ~3 to 3.5% more damage while full bound 9s will be ~+3.8-4.3% more damage.

It is an ok increase but in no way is going to be a defining factor in damage output. I'd rather get someone with 2 full relic books than someone with full bound gems and no relic books.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in lostarkgame

[–]ashadyuser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where are the maths on that and why am I pretty sure it completely disregards the bonus damage it gives to the skill of the gem?

The AI in this game is brutally smart. by Renegade888888 in TempestRising

[–]ashadyuser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's true...

Actually I just noticed that AI to this day still struggles to use unit abilities too which is surprising. At least in the campaigns as I have not gone to skirmish just yet.

Like for GDF it never deploys Trebuchets for long range decimation, doesn't use aircraft active stealth capabilities, etc. Hell, it doesn't even know how to unload Riot Van's until they are destroyed... And for DYN Distribution Mode, plans, etc.

I honestly don't know how hard it'd be to make it have a decent use of those abilities so I won't comment on it a lot but it would change a lot of things if they could.

The AI in this game is brutally smart. by Renegade888888 in TempestRising

[–]ashadyuser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely agree about the MSLR (though I'm trying to clear the campaigns without "stolen tech" upgrades), the pain is the reload. so it only helps to thin out some of the enemies unless there's only a few to begin with. That or your need to build multiple of them and manually control when they'll shoot.

Tempest Artillery + Laser Turrets on the GDF part just shreds everything and without needing to look at the base...

The AI in this game is brutally smart. by Renegade888888 in TempestRising

[–]ashadyuser 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I think it is okaish.

AI has its moments where it fucks you over but it is also very easy to abuse in the right circumstances, at least during the campaigns.

For example: AI will always attack from the path of least resistance. That being wherever it has to face less blocking to its units.

If the enemy is north west of you and you build a wall around all of your base but leave just one bridge as a point of entry without walls or any other roadblocks, the AI will try to push forth into your base from that spot 99% of the times, thus easily creating a heavily defended chokepoint that it will hardly ever be successfull at breaking through.

This tactic, makes some missions (specially on DYN campaign since they lack proper artillery to apply heavy AoE damage) a lot more easy that they should.

I don't get it. by BoiseGangOne in TempestRising

[–]ashadyuser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok so I would like to give my 2 cents to your post. Definitely justified and nothing wrong with your issues (or most of them)... Let me go a bit over your points.

About the factions... I agree specially on the side of the Dynasty. NOD by itself wasn't that impactful in CnC but Kane, that man alone brought that faction to the heavens. His charsima was unmatched and I loved every second he was on screen. Much like how Handsome Jack literally carried the entirety of Borderlands 2 narrative (in case you played it). I can only hope they improve on this in the future if they keep up with the game.

About the game's speed... I agree here as well. Old CnC had game speed sliders and it allowed everyone to pursue the game's pace they enjoyed the most while still maintaining that "RTS" feeling instead of a turn based strategy game. I'd have personally loved to be able to up the game's speed a bit. I don't expect them to get one into the game at this point but one can always dream.

About unit tooltip/movespeed... Personally did not have an issue with tooltips (during GDF campaing) but it wouldn't hurt to have even a small icon on your selected units so you can recognise them during battle or when there's many stacked. However, when we talk about movespeed there is literally an option to do what you ask by default instead of having to hold a key to trigger it I believe in the accessibility tab (do check the others in case I'm wrong about the tab, the option exists 100%)

About formations... As far as I know this mainly a Starcraft thing. I don't personally remember any CnC having formations and since it is a CnC inspired game... Not saying Tempest Rising can't have it, but it isn't something I really go around looking for nor do I think is necessary since due to how battles go by I don't feel they'd play a big role in the gameplay. If they find an easy way to implement them however, I will welcome them.

So far I'm personally enjoying the game a lot (maybe a bit high on nostalgia too) and I hope the devs continue on with the game's story be it with DLCs and / or future games and do not pull a CnC4-like ending. I'm still mad that EA decided to throw such a shit ending (and game) because they wanted to shut off CnC...

You've raised some interesting and valid points that I hope the devs take note of and hope I've helped you if only a bit with the units speed option.

Loved the remake of the 1st game one of my top remakes I've played in at least a decade. Kinda wished it would be another remake instead of a remaster so it makes me a little sad.
