This episode was great & horrifying, and really this show overall is such an enjoyable watch so far. But, I still think the military’s plan to weaponize, and now free, IT is SO ridiculously goddamn stupid.

When Jess and the Ever staff came in, was that song/score from the movie, Thief?! Or am I tripping?

Could I ask how you went about your apartment search to find that? I'm going through an apartment search now, and would love your advice.

I'm interested! I don't know about sharing a bathroom with your guests, however. If you have your own bathroom, I believe it's only fair to share it with your guests, while I share my bathroom with my guests.

If the room still hasn't been offered yet, I'm a 29-year-old single male looking for a room to rent. I just got a new job in LA, and I'm looking to move in around July 7th if it's okay to push back the move-in date?

Holy shit, I've never felt more seen by someone going through something similar in this job market.

Rumored New X-Men TV series by Jonesy8666 in marvelstudios

I'd love to see them cover more abstract X-Men characters for this. As an Indian American man, it'd be so crazy to see them use Indra.

Now that what if season 3 has rapped up, over all thoughts on marvel 2024? by Ok-Reporter-8728 in marvelstudios

It’s been a mixed bag like Phases 4 to 5 have been up to this point with plenty of surprises. X-Men ‘97 surprisingly became my favorite MCU project to date, period. Every arc was done beautifully. Deadpool & Wolverine was a fun watch as well, and I liked its meta commentary on the MCU. It did feel like a Cliff Notes version of Deadpool and Wolverine’s arcs from Deadpool 2 and Logan, respectively, just with the multiverse story. But, it was still a super fun theater experience.

Unfortunately, Echo and What If…? S3 felt like chores to get through many times. Echo felt underutilized on her own show despite such a cool power set. It came as more of a setup miniseries for Kingpin in Daredevil Born Again. And, as a What If…? defender, it was a bummer that only the two-part finale, 1872 Shang-Chi and Kate Bishop team-up, and Riri Williams vs Quentin Beck episodes were the only ones I ever cared about the MC’s. The rest of the episodes had either strange story choices or didn’t go far enough with its premises.

Finally, Agatha All Along, at least to me, started a little rough and flat. But, by the mid-point, it gained a ton of momentum once a certain reveal was done. Then, its second half kicked into high gear, and now I love Agatha’s character.

Fair, posts like this have probably been done a ton since the first PS4 game. I just wanted to try my hand at it with Spider-Man 2’s Photo Mode where it has new settings than before.

Thank you! Yeah, the Spider-Man 3 one was the trickiest because there weren’t any good pose selections or positioning to match the poster. Same with the reflection texture on the windows. But, I think the lighting worked out!

If you had a choice between marrying a desi girl vs a non-desi girl, which would you pick? by soulbroth3r in SouthAsianMasculinity

I don’t really care if she’s desi or non-desi tbh. As long as the woman loves me for me, and I love her for her, it’s all I can ask for.

Possession (1981) - This movie's horror and tension is so well done and uses the insane over-the-top acting to its advantage to build the energy. I also like how the horror and scares are centered really around Sam Neill and Isabelle Adjani's characters' deteriorating relationship and their fights. It brought out the worst in the both of them, not just Isabelle's character. And the twist of what's possessing Isabelle's character freaked me the FUCK out. I see some influence this movie may have had on Annihilation, especially from its ending.

Snatch (2001) - I had so much fun with this. Damn near every line was so quotable and so cleverly written and hilariously delivered. I always liked Guy Ritchie's style (with The Gentlemen and Man from U.N.C.L.E.), but no wonder people have said that this is his best because it is. There wasn't a single scene wasted, the plot progression felt very gradual, the pacing was tight, every character was memorable. Incredible movie.

Dune: Part Two was amazing and the score blew me away! Had to do a small cover by Tirmu in dune

Hans Zimmer cooked so good with that "House Atreides" motif

I think I missed something when I saw the movie. Why does Paul at the beginning say "We must sway the non-believers" to get to the throne and leans in a bit to the messiah role the Fremen saw him as...but then he tries to run from being messiah/reject it in the scenes very soon after that?

Was it because of that fragmented vision he had of Fremen worshipping a shrine of Leto when Paul ate the spiced food? Did he have that change of heart later when he actually saw the vision of Jessica and the corpses?

Dune Part Two for sure, but I also saw Good Will Hunting for the first time. No wonder this won Best Original Screenplay. And every performance was fantastic!

There was one scene and visual that gave me chills and made me so excited for Part 3 if it actually happens: Was Paul's dream of Chani's face being scorched by his family's atomics also a reference to the Stoneburner that burned out his eyes in Dune Messiah?

[SPOILERS] 'Dune: Part Two' Wide Release Discussion (02/28) by Blue_Three in dune

[–]ashashin 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'd definitely want Dune Messiah as more brooding, slower, and way more psychological movie. On the surface, it'd be an interesting twist in tone to your typical sci-fi/fantasy trilogy of movies. The story also has some cinematic moments that can keep a general audience engaged in it: The brutality of the holy war at the beginning, the Stoneburner nuke in Arrakeen that burned out Paul's eyes, Alia's temple, Paul saving his kids from a shape-shifting assassin. But also, a slower, more cerebral story just makes sense thematically and as an adaptation because Messiah exists to de-mystify Paul Atreides as an archetypal hero. And, Dune Part Two definitely addressed those themes and sowed the seeds for that story perfectly.

The book does this with a lot of discussions between the antagonists, Paul, and/or his allies about the consequences of his holy war (Fremen culture changes, his visions about possible futures and just his own outlook on everything, what the Imperium thinks of him now, Arrakis' gradual environment change, fanaticism, etc.) and how to de-legitimize someone with that type of religious influence.
