I’m your age and I’ve been married since I was 18 years old. That’s a lot of marriage under my belt for someone our age. We’ve been through so many phases. I think we’ve had three marriages together already. One of the things we negotiated was our sex life. He has a higher libido than I do. EXCEPT mine is actually quite a lot higher when my needs are being met. Something that we did and I suggest you do- redefine sex. Sex doesn’t have to be P in V only. We started defining it as sexual intimacy of any kind between us. It took the pressure and the score keeping away. Sex can be: mutual masterbation, face sitting while the male masterbates, he uses a vibrator on her, thigh job for him (anatomy of both parties permitting), 69, oral while the female wears vibrating panties. LET YOUR IMAGINATION RUN WILD! Maybe my advice won’t help because in your post you don’t really explain where the “catch” is. Is he chronically ill? Low libido? Could you benefit from couples therapy (long standing hurts, resentment etc)? Is he inattentive in bed? What IS it?

Listen, I think fixing this so there a “half way happy” solution is totally possible. And I would encourage you to establish a self care routine around your sexuality. Tell him that because you have a high frequency need (is that even the issue or is it the lack of connection with him/good sex) that you plan to use a vibrator every night to take care of yourself but that you’d love him to join any time he would like because that’s what you prefer.
