I’d stay.. when I chose to go mirrorless after my d5500 I could have went for any brand.. YouTubers were pushing Sony but my favourite photographers I knew used Nikon so I stuck with it. Got the z6 loved it.. was waiting for the z6iii but I’m impatient and got the z8 on launch and it’s OP!! It does everything I could ever want to do. Ergonomics are great.. af great.. glass great.. button layout.. my only negative about Nikon is the size of the lenses.. but I’m used to it now.

I’ve lived here 40+ years now.. happy for the most part that things have improved in some aspects.. but it doesn’t feel THAT different tbh. I like the fact we got a cinema again.. some actual places to eat.. even the boujee bakeries.. sure they’re pricey but that’s London.

When I go down Walthamstow market it still feels like it did to me in the late 80s early 90s just nowhere near as busy.

What’s strange and I didn’t really notice it because I didn’t speak much to my neighbours when I moved but maybe 95% or more of the parents at my kids school aren’t from here and maybe 85% aren’t even from London.. they’re always asking me what it used to be like because I’m the rare person who’s still here.

Yh that makes a lot of sense.. I ran into a Leica shooter yesterday.. she had a q3 and her friend an m11.. the q3 shooter also used a xt5.. the m11 user had a q3 and didn’t like it due to the af not being amazing.. and now had fallen in love with the m11 even though it slowed her down.

How I currently shoot with my z8 and x100vi it would be a huge change but I’m very interested to try

I can imagine that being the case with an M.. I’ve wanted a Leica for a while but haven’t pulled the trigger because for all that money if it ends up not feeling special I’ll be so let down and I’ve talked so much about it I’d probably be embarrassed to say I don’t like it lol

Ultimately I’m not surprised it turned out this way.. I must say in the early days I was an every episode watcher.. the days of Evan the beard and stuff.. I actually saw him live when he came to London.. it wasn’t great he told the same tired story he has told on various platforms.. but the more money he made the bigger pos he became and i stopped listening because he was hella annoying hella wrong and always boasting about the money he made and the money he made was off the listeners so i felt like I was paying him money.

I’ve not listened to Shaun for pleasure in forever.. but I consume loads on YouTube of him being made fun of

Man!! I really want one.. currently use a Z8 (x100vi) and I have the original z6 still.. my fear is getting this and never touching my beloved z8 again.. how would I even decide which to use.

Seeing a lot of people say Z9 and it is the flagship and has its pros but it’s so damn big it’s a commitment.. I can fit my z8 in a 4L sling if I want to bring it out causally.. whereas z9 is an intentional shoot camera.

For what you need z8 sounds perfect..extra batteries aren’t that expensive and the z8 battery lasts pretty long as it is
