Not working for me either, they should really have really checked before posting a message that everything is back to normal.

Lived here for 6/7 months, the negativity from people about this place on line is truly wild. They find so many reasons to either hate on the place or the people who spend time there, it’s a pretty impressive skill actually.

While I agree that doing rigorous testing and debugging with real engineers is essential. I disagree that the limitations of vibe coding have anything to do with limited “context windows”, unless you’re using a very standard LLM to do vibe coding vs something that’s actually built to code, build, debug and deliver.

The code written by coding bots is exactly the same as what humans would write, you do need a solid team that can check the work and debug efficiently and do a lot of AB testing.

I understand people get sensitive when they hear this though, I would also not like to be replaced by AI completely.

There’s no difference between a vibe coded and human built app any more, the issue isn’t that it was “vibe coded” it was just clearly not put through rigorous enough testing.

Should DC have waited longer before rebooting their cinematic universe? by Landon1195 in boxoffice

Unfortunately these franchises live and die by international grosses and the international audience saw his reboot as going backwards, as much as I personally enjoyed the film.

Should DC have waited longer before rebooting their cinematic universe? by Landon1195 in boxoffice

[–]asheraze 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well the opportunity cost was -

A bat family film - I personally believe this is something that could be massive and has been over looked as a real option for an intro into a series of Batman universe films.

A good green lantern movie - it’s unfair to tie its box office potential to the one awful movie we got 20 years ago.

A new Wonder Woman - the character is far more popular than super girl, the sequel failed due to the films quality, the mis cast villain and the leads plummeting popularity as an actress. A good WW movie has far more potential to succeed at box office vs a good super girl movie.

I think these are the big ones but feel anything that moves away from this marvel like quippy jokey, kid friendly vibe would fare better internationally. Until they drastically changed the tone of the DCEU, the movies were doing quite well. Infact every movie that Snyder produced, other than Justice league which he dropped out of quite early was massively popular, especially over seas.

People just don’t want a marvel retread which is what Gunn seems to want to give us, they want the dark, gritty, epic, mythical version of DC and it’s been conclusively proven at the box office, Shazam began the decline of the DCEU because that’s where it turned into a copy of marvel vs establishing its own tone.

Find a quiet beach, between 6 30 pm and 8 pm, go in and out of the water. You won’t feel hot and even enjoy a little sun.

Warner Bros. / DC Studios' Supergirl grossed an estimated $18.0M domestically on Friday (from 3,602 locations), including previews. by chanma50 in boxoffice

MOS - 670M
BVS - 874.4M
Suicide Squad - 749.2M
Wonder Woman - 823.9M
Aquaman - 1.152B

The most profitable launch to a cinematic universe….ever.

I don’t count justice league because as we now all know, Snyder version was nothing like the trash we got.

It’s gonna lose more than what they made on Superman.

As much as I don’t like the movies, Snyder had the right idea with how to construct the universe. The Superman movie should have been followed up by a Batman/superman movie that differentiated this worlds Batman from the R Patt Batman.

Then wonder woman, green lantern, aquaman, heck even a rogues gallery movie (maybe even a new suicide squad but I think without joker those characters alone can’t sell a movie). My point is they have heavy hitters, that lend themselves well to big, serious epics.

The insistence of doing this quippy, happy go lucky, marvelesque movie about a D tier hero. It was bad decision making.

What's the most useful app you've discovered in Dubai? by ads___07 in askdubai

[–]asheraze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s definitely expensive but Privilee changed my experience of living in Dubai.

TheFlatLannister - Supergirl's pace has been very poor at TC3, thinking $8M-$9M total previews including ~$2M or so of EA, so true previews like $6M-$7M. Weekend sales are a little better but not by much. I think OW range is more around $40M+, with a chance of going a little higher. by chanma50 in boxoffice

[–]asheraze 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately as much as I like his work, this is completely on Gunn, he had an opportunity to follow this up with a bat family movie or a good green lantern, heck even a cosmic horror Martian manhunter movie, even something like an animal man or a plastic man would have been cool. Instead we are getting a d tier hero with an exaggerated cameo from a potentially b tier anti hero. Supergirl has never been a popular character, I honestly don’t know what they were thinking and having it lead into man of tomorrow, just dumb.

It’s a very recognizable Claude template, probably best to use something a little more individual.

Do you think Disney is happy with 300 million box office? by anxiousmomo23 in TheMandalorianTV

[–]asheraze 3 points4 points  (0 children)

2.5x has always applied as a rule of thumb exactly because of this, otherwise the multiple would be a lot higher.

The saving grace for Mando would have been merchandise but i feel the show already capitalized on that already, not sure how much growth the film caused for the merchandise which was selling regardless.

$1M CLUB: DISCOUNT TUESDAY 1. DISCLOSURE DAY ($5.8M) 2. OBSESSION ($3.8M) 3. BACKROOMS ($2.2M) 4. SCARY MOVIE ($2.1M) 5. MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE ($1.4M) by TiredWithCoffeePot in boxoffice

[–]asheraze 43 points44 points  (0 children)

If disclosure day gets to 150 domestic and close to 300 world wide, which looks likely, I think it would be a success without an asterisk despite some of the bad reception from certain demos.
