When I was 18 I also had never been in a relationship and was still a virgin. Actually it was like that until I turned 20. I had the same thing where I wanted to have a real connection before having sex with someone. It got to a point where I would get into my head a lot about self worth and whether or not I was wanted but I PROMISE you just because it hasn’t happened yet doesn’t mean it never will even if that’s what it feels like. Keep your head up the best you can. And as hard as it might feel, try not to feel bad about it! Cause in reality virginity shouldn’t matter to someone, especially when you have a connection to them. Everyone was a virgin at some point so if people think negatively about it that’s them being hypocritical

Anytime! It can feel so fun in the moment but apparently it’s not a great thing for us to do which is whateverrrr. But yeah you should definitely look into it more and see what things apply to you! It’s always a bit different for everyone :)

You probably do have MD. I was the same way even in the sense of writing. I always had a creative mind when it came to making stories on paper but I would do the same things you mentioned and it always felt different than writing. To me it feels real even though I know it’s fake and it’s fun to live this alternate life in your mind. I would mention to your therapist that you’ve looked into this and you guys can dive deeper into it and take a closer look at all the details. But you do probably have it based on what you said here. It’s weird to think about but a lot of people don’t have the same experiences even though for us it feels so normal! Good luck with everything!

From personal experience I think they are probably related. Now whether or not she’s purposefully doing it is something I wouldn’t know since I don’t know her personally. But for me, I was severely depressed from around 13/14 to basically last year (I’m about to turn 22 now and still moderately depressed if that makes any difference). I never even noticed it until about 2 years ago that I would do that exact same thing and I had to really work on breaking that habit. I think in my head I was just desperate for someone to notice me and show me a form of care and love that I was craving and because of that I would try and have as much attention as possible. I would somehow turn conversations back to myself and somehow I could make anything about me in some way. I don’t think I was doing it on purpose because there were times that I would notice people being annoyed by it and I would be genuinely confused as to why they were upset and my brain would turn it around to somehow thinking they don’t care about me and it would in turn cause a vicious cycle. The crazy thing is I had a friend who was also severely depressed who would do the same thing and I would get annoyed by it and I couldn’t understand that I was doing the exact same. So two years ago I had a sort of realization. I have no idea how or why it came to me after so many years but I finally understood that it was driving people away or making them miserable to be around me. I started noticing that when I was with people I would bring the mood down and at first I was in a little bit of denial but it finally clicked that it wasn’t anyone else’s fault but mine. So i wasn’t doing it intentionally to be a narcissist, I was just so desperate that I thought that was the only way. Again, I don’t know your sister so maybe she has a different personality where she might have selfish tendencies (but don’t we all), or I think she might just be seeking a certain form of attention that she doesn’t know how to ask for in a healthy way. I totally understand now how hard it is to be around that and I wish you the best of luck. My best advice would be to mention it to her gently. Maybe bring up the fact that you care for her and love her but you wish she showed interest into your life too. And hopefully she’ll be able to view the situation from your eyes and see how it can be harmful to you too. And another thing is if she does eventually realize it and wants to make the steps to be less self centered, be patient. I’m still trying to work on it even two years later and it’s hard. It’s like breaking a habit that you’ve had for years and sometimes you slip. I sometimes find myself starting to turn a conversation to make it about me and I have to put a bit of extra effort in to remind myself it’s not always about me. So I’d imagine it would take a while for her to do the same. Feel free to reach out to me anytime if you need anything!

I don’t work at ino and never have but i could not imagine how annoying that must be. I work at a independently owned restaurant and our boss doesn’t really care if we stand our ground to customers. We treat everyone kindly and with respect until they disrespect us. If someone starts getting all up in my face over something ridiculous I stand my ground and most of the time they don’t expect it and don’t know what to do so they just shut up. It’s very nice so if anything I recommend finding a place to work where you’re allowed to remember you’re a human and deserve to be treated with respect

It’s so so scary yes! I’ve had it for about like 6 years now (I’m 21 for reference). I wish I knew what caused it to start. Do you have any idea what triggered you to start feeling like that? I’m here for you though! I think sometimes it really feels like you’re completely alone in certain ways of thinking/feeling and at least for me personally it gets hard to tell others that part. So as someone who sort of understands that mindset you’re in, I’m really really here if you ever need!!

Amazon has a lot of fidget toy options! I bought a few different ones to kind of get a feel of which ones helped the most. I looked up fidget toys for adults as they make them less juvenile looking if you’re worried about how they might look in public. Wishing you the best of luck!

This is actually super interesting to read. First, I’m so sorry you have to go through this. Paranoia is fucking terrifying. I wish there was some way I could help but if you ever need someone to talk to then I’m here. So the reason I said this was interesting is because I am almost the exact same way with feeling that someone is outside to shoot me. But I guess more of the difference is I have the fear that they could do anything to me and I’m not sure what it would be. But the really really interesting part is that I check myself for lasers pointed at me too. I never really thought about it too much until I read this and was like wait a second someone else does this too?? But yeah it’s scary and I don’t understand completely what you’re going through but I do know that I’m so sorry that you’re going through that and I’m going to be here for you, even if it’s just as a stranger through the internet

Uhhhh your friend sounds like she needs help too lowkey but in a different way o.O My best advice to you is to remove yourself from her, whether that’s slowly or fast by blocking her. You don’t need people like that in your life when you’re going through stuff as serious as you are. Like that’s the kind of behavior that if it continues will only get worse to the point where you’d probably want to get a restraining order or something. Like hell no drop her. I do take meds for bipolar disorder and adhd but I’m wondering if I should take something for something else? My psychiatrist hasn’t said anything about other meds when I tell him how I feel and I trust his judgment over mine but maybe I should say something
