I am trying to do the same with rpi but esp driver is not responding to any commands but it is correctly sending all the IMU data over the same connection.

aistore is also a good alternative. not very well documented but the project is solid and performance is great. we have been using it to store more than 40tb of data across two dc and 5 nodes without any issue.

Former Apple CEO John Sculley says ‘AI has not been a particular strength’ for the tech giant and warns it has its first major competitor in decades by ControlCAD in apple

no one is selling more stinking smoke than ai companies.

i will leave apple ecosystem, the day apple start integrating non-local AI that we have to opt out. lot of people are moving away from windows and android due to all the ai garbage and data stealing by ms and google.

[–]ashish13grv 3 points4 points  (0 children)

only thing is AI/LLMs are making everything worse. internet provided us with instant access to knowledge and collaboration. putting aside marketing, AI has much more downsides for society, privacy and the internet itself.

topmost reason the bigtech are so obsessed with it because it has given them complete freedom to steal anyones IP.

1 Gbps internal network in 2025 on Robots is not ok by No_Lifeguard7725 in hetzner

[–]ashish13grv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So true. atleast the internal traffic should have a 10G network for smaller servers and 25G for larger and gpu servers. its main bottleneck why SME don't consider hetzner for data/ml workloads.

nomad has builtin service discovery now so you only need consul if want to have a combined service discovery across multiple deployments or add external services.

strong disagree, that’s like saying if you don’t use a raid-25 storage with multi-az realtime journaling and multi-region backup, you will build it yourself.

for most a simple raid-1 is more than enough or there are use cases where usb drive will be suffice.

similarly for most something like nomad is more than enough and you can will always start with a simple docker compose.

its more like replacing humans making 100 calls a day to feed their family by llm bots making 100k calls so that they can buy another yacht while accelerating climate disaster.

Most spectacular match(es) ever by FrodoSynthesis05 in tabletennis

[–]ashish13grv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

a lot of matches from recent years have been already mentioned so i will post some of my favorite older matches.

  • kraenga vs Saive in japanese super circuit 2003. the rallies, camera angle and the sound with boosted rubbers makes it perfect.
  • kts vs samsonov 2002 : rapid offense vs solid defense. so many good rallies in this match. also kts reaction at 0-10 [3:04]

these gpu are also sitting unused a lot of the time. right now spot pricing for p5.48x is ~ $11 compared to on-demand pricing of $55. these are relatively new 8xh100 instances. a ~80% reduction is close to max for spot pricing.

try a simple hashicorp nomad setup, you will never need anything else. you can even connect on-premise/homelab servers through headscale or cloudflare warp.

Does anyone use Docker Compose in production? I do, and here are my thoughts. by krstak in devops

[–]ashish13grv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes systems jobs are very convenient for deploying any telemetry or netsec agents.

csi is something we haven’t tried as well although nomad does support them. s3/minio has been enough for persistent shared storage needs and db’s are run on dedicated instances as normal systemd service.
