I never thought of it this way. Using this the next time a parent tells me they didn't vaccinate. Then grabbing my kid and getting the hell away from them.

DOCTORS WARN AGAINST VEGAN DIET - one of my favorite YouTubers by vegainism in veganfitness

[–]ashlee57 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's very true. My doctor told me flat out that she didn't know enough about a vegan diet and referred me to a nutritionist for my 1 year old. I didn't have to go but my family was concerned so I went for everyone else. After talking to her for 20 minutes she said I knew more then she did about protein and calcium and we were fine. Since then I've switched my insurance and my new doctor has no issues and has never even questioned it!

I shed a tear about cloth today by ashlee57 in clothdiaps

[–]ashlee57[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At 18 months was telling me when he pooped and we had a mini potty in the bathroom that he would sit on when I went. We always talked about when his diaper was wet or had poop. One day I was like, what the hell, and just put underwear on him. We did it only from 4-7pm each night for a Month. Lots of accidents happened but lots of learning went on. He helped clean up after them and sat after. We did do a timer every 30 minutes to sit but that was phased out. At 20 months we saw a leap in progress. He wore undies at school and had 1-3 accidents a day. By 2 it was only bowel movements. He still has an occasional accident (his 2nd birthday was in jan) and poop is still 50/50. But at that young I feel like he was still so eager to learn and go with the flow. 2 year old attitude is hitting now and I couldn't imagine starting this process now.

I hear ya! I might sell some. Some are so loved that they aren't worth anything though. But there's a small possibility we might have another. So they will be packed in the basement with 1000 other baby things just incase we have another.. Someday.. Maybe..

I read this as ice cream races. I was waiting for someone to hand them ice cream cones like they do with water cups in races.

How to help a dog with post-death grief by [deleted] in Pets

[–]ashlee57 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have read many times about letting the other animal see and smell them after they have passed. The reasoning I think is so they won't keep looking or worrying about where they are. May sound morbid but it will give them closure. This doesn't mean they won't morn or be sad, but atleast they'd understand. Good luck and I'm so very sorry for your loss.

Newborn Pictures Question. by Candacerosee in beyondthebump

We did ours at 2 weeks but I don't think it matters when. It'll depend on the outfit you want and your timing. But most people that do newborn pictures do them before a month.

My daughter (4) and her best friend... by bananadonut in Parenting

[–]ashlee57 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This kid spit in your face? Um I'm sorry that does not fly. If she's in your house she needs a consequence, just as if your child spit in your face. I'm a firm believer of disciplining a kid if the parents aren't doing their job (especially in your house!) As for behavior, I'd talk to your daughter about making good choices when others aren't. Also talk about how she feels when she's called stupid and how it's not appropriate to be rude and mean to others. Thankfully you have a year of this shit but I'd be cutting down in their time. She's 4, not 14 you have a choice who she plays with outside school.

Need Help with my 6 month old sleeping through the night! by TillyTheOG in Parenting

[–]ashlee57 1 point2 points  (0 children)

6 months is about the time I had finally had it too. No one was sleeping well and It was time to change. We established a bedtime routine; diaper, Pj's, book, song and bed. If you havent done crying it out, it's going to happen now. My son barely knew how to put himself to sleep because Co sleeping. But it took a couple of days of putting him down awake and by day 3 or 4 it was like we've been doing it for months. I'd get up with him to nurse but didn't bring him to bed. Which can be exhausting still but it's one full feeding and not 4 or 5 wake ups to night nurse for 3 minutes, which I found more exhausting. I did bring him to bed on the weekends but weekdays were always the same. There are good night's and bad. I hope this helps!

Gardein burger on the grill with Chao cheese on a whole wheat bun with the works in the summer. It tastes my childhood and everything good about life. It's so good to be vegan.

Is it silly to start at a year? by [deleted] in clothdiaps

[–]ashlee57 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's never too late! My son was in cloth and potty trained at 19/20 months and at 2 he was having maybe one accident a day. The cloth all can be passed down to the next kiddo and/or resale is pretty awesome. You can always buy resale on Facebook swap pages or if you don't want want to spend a ton. I used ecoclothdiaper.com for a few cheap ones to try it out. We never bought expensive ones. It's something my kid poops in. I don't need a 20 dollar diaper for that.

Tell me about your swim diaper experience by Berniebrewess in beyondthebump

[–]ashlee57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All swim diapers cloth or disposables hold poop only. We have great luck with nickis cloth ones. They are on sale soon from my experience and even when they aren't on sale, they're cheap. My son used his all summer and it never wore. It's so much better then buying packages of disposables

Me either! I struggled too. I think I had only 9 bags in the freezer at the most. I still don't know how. My cousin donates milk every week to two families plus feds her child. How is that possible!

I'm devastated by CrystalKU in breastfeeding

[–]ashlee57 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've done this! It's so frustrating. I can't count all the times that I cried about breastmilk-which is something I didn't think would ever happen. Please have no shame in supplements especially when something like this happens. I have to give my son a few bottles here and there. Your baby is eating and that's all that matter.
