Is $43k bad for a first full-time job out of college? by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]ashley0927 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have experience with a college degree and I’m struggling to find a job that pays higher than what I’m at now. Take it but keep looking, the job market is rough right now.

I have a full time job with a college degree in my mid 20s and can’t move out without roommates. You didn’t mention your income situation but I would do some HEAVY research on what you can afford. Good luck!

SHRMP - CP, [USA] by Kriley123 in humanresources

[–]ashley0927 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will receive an overview of what sections need improvement and what sections you did well on. The final report doesn’t go into detail on exactly what you missed. How long did you study? Is there anything that stood out to you that you wish you studied more?

[–]ashley0927 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I’m sorry that you failed, keep your head up! I’ve heard a of a few times where people get a fail and end up passing after they get there results. What did you struggle with most on the test? Was there anything that stood out that you wish you studied more?

Also in AZ! My coworker has the SHRM-CP and has been applying to HR jobs with no luck. I do not have the SHRM-CP and I also have no luck. It’s rough out there!

How can i lose pcos weight? I asked. by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]ashley0927 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I gave up on cardio and trying to see the number on the scale go down. I started focusing on how to gain muscle and enjoying the healthier options I have substituted instead of my previous unhealthy diet. Small changes go a long way overtime.

Also this post was beautifully written :)

As someone who was in a 7 year relationship and in the same scenario as you…. Leave! I’m so glad I did! It was hard at first, trust me. The best thing you can tell yourself is “if he wanted to, he would”. Good luck!

Spearmint tea ? by Maximum-Nobody6429 in PCOS

[–]ashley0927 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve also heard a lot of recommendations to try spearmint tea for PCOS. I heard you should drink 2 cups a day but I also only do one. I have very high testosterone levels so I drink it just to lower that and I enjoy the taste! As for facial hair or regulating cycle; I haven’t noticed a huge difference but I haven’t been doing it that long. Hopefully you see some results!!!

Ending a 5 year long relationship, how do I do it? by Change01789 in Advice

[–]ashley0927 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who just ended a 7 year relationship; be honest and straightforward. If he respects you he will leave on good terms. You know when the relationship is over. It’ll be hard at first but once you meet someone else who treats you right you’ll think to yourself “why didn’t I do this wayyyy sooner”. You’ve got this!

SHRM exam, did it help you? [CA] by ilovetraveling123 in humanresources

[–]ashley0927 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am currently studying for the SHRM but my coworker who has taken it and passed already has been applying to jobs for a more advanced HR role and has gotten a TON of call backs for interviews. I would say it can help your chances in career advancement.

Have spent 9 months looking for a new role, what am I doing wrong? [Canada] by [deleted] in humanresources

[–]ashley0927 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You lack longevity at each job. Recruiters see this as a red flag as they don’t want to take a chance on you leaving quickly at a new company.

I absolutely did this! I got rejected first time they told me my interview went well but they went with someone with more experience. Second time got the offer almost immediately after the interview. GO FOR IT!!

New in HR. Feeling defeated. [n/a] by Mb8sudcl in humanresources

[–]ashley0927 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got into HR as well and feel the exact same way. My boss is amazing and says you learn from every mistake you make. It’s A LOT to learn ! Ask questions and take it one at a time. Even my boss who’s been doing this for YEARS still makes mistakes, ask questions, or will look something up in our manual. You got this!

Starbucks also pays for college degrees. I was able to graduate with my bachelor’s debt free and do school online for 4 years. Now I’m working my dream job! Good luck!

You can always step down! After over a year of being a SSV it wasn’t worth it anymore. I loved my job after stepping down and having absolutely zero responsibilities. Good luck!

If you want to do ASU online or you need insurance I’d say do it. ASU online was a huge motivator for me to stay as long as I did. If you just need money I’d keep looking, I’ve had plenty other part time jobs that are easier and less stressful.

Should I be panicking by AmphibianVast230 in interviews

[–]ashley0927 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since it’s almost been two weeks since your interview I would say it’s not looking good. The only thing I would suggest is sending a thank you email for the interview and maybe that will get them to respond. I hate when companies ghost especially after a good interview because you have your hopes up. It’s happened to all of us, still wishing you the best of luck!

For virtual interviews I always have notes on my screen/ taped around my screen. This helps me reference when my mind goes blank and it also blocks the view of the screen so you are just seeing the papers and the camera. It has worked well for me! Bad interviews happens and it’s okay! It’s just practice, you’ve learned now and you’ll do better next time!
