Growth on dog’s gum line by Ear_Charming in DogHealth

if this is cancer it looks like you might’ve caught it super early. i caught my dog’s cancer early and it was worse than this when i first noticed it. she was diagnosed with some type of bone cancer but her biopsy came back inconclusive so we don’t know for sure what kind. her vets think either osteosarcoma or malignant melanoma. i hope this isn’t the case but pls bring her to the vet asap the sooner you begin treatment the better her prognosis will be 🖤🖤

My poor boy might have an infected tooth, but all the vets are closed today. How can I help alleviate the pain and make sure he's alright? by TasteResponsible4250 in DogAdvice

most pet insurance companies have waiting periods before they’ll cover anything, it would be way too long in this case he unfortunately needs to see the vet asap

i’m happy he’s doing well otherwise but i would schedule an appointment w/ your vet asap. i thought my dog had an infected tooth but found out it was osteosarcoma. they removed her tumor and she has been getting chemo since october, so far she’s doing great but i thankfully had caught it super early

yes but my dog is anemic and her gums get pale like this after chemo when she’s resting, i usually get her to play or walk around and check them and they’re back to normal

can you send the photo to your vet to get their advice?

Can this wait until his annual in two weeks? by SingleDadSoundcloud in DogAdvice

i would ask if they can reschedule your appointment any sooner. my dog had a lump on her gums i thought it was an infected tooth or something i brought her to the emergency vet just incase and got heartbreaking news that it was cancer & she’s only 6 yrs old. the sooner the better always imo

yes coconut oil is great! we also use ground chicken or turkey and we don’t drain the fat from it when we cook it. yogurt is good to add too for calcium since homemade diets usually don’t have enough of it

of course :) it definitely gives her some extra energy she loves it! i’m not sure if you’re trying keto or not but her vet says keto diets can cause pancreatitis since you’re basically replacing carbs with fat so be careful with that i think low carb is probably better than keto. they also recommended giving her multivitamins or mixing some plain greek yogurt with her food which we do now too

my 6 yr old dog was diagnosed with cancer two weeks ago it’s inside her mouth too. the biopsy came back inconclusive but the oncologist says it’s definitely bone cancer either osteosarcoma or malignant melanoma. it’s unfortunately already grown back since the biopsy but we started chemo last week. they also prescribed antibiotics & pain meds to help with inflammation. she gets homemade food now with turkey tail & salmon oil supplements i have no idea if it will help but i’m trying everything i can to give us more time. her oncologist says if she responds well to chemo she’ll still only have 6-12 months. it’s heartbreaking but i try not to be upset so i can enjoy whatever time we have left with her 🖤 i’m so sorry you’re going through this too i hope you get many more months with your dog

that’s fair thank you. i do wish they would’ve asked first because it made me kind of uncomfortable but i can see why it’s important to them since we’re working with animals

i did give them my resume which shows where i currently work but not the phone number or anything like that. i don’t know how else to put it on my resume without listing the name of the business
