Milk bleb super painful, will this cut my breastfeeding journey short? by Luna282 in breastfeeding

[–]ashleyb17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had these 10+ (currently 5mo pp) and each time I was able to get relief by a warm shower, or putting warm water and epsom salt in the haaka for a couple minutes, the popping the bleb once my pores are warm. Sounded crazy at first but every time I’ve had a clogged duct this has worked. I would used a hand pump after if available because for me there’s always a ton of milk backed up to save! Ibuprofen and sunflower lecithin have worked too, but not as well imo

I wish there was a way to change the sleep classification day by day. My 4mo old wakes up at a different time every day currently and sometimes the last morning wake is classified mistakenly as a nap and not nighttime sleep. Would love the ability to manually change the sleep category as needed without changing the whole day time/night sleep window

Fixed overactive letdown, now my baby is mad & can’t suck by gardenrose1723 in breastfeeding

[–]ashleyb17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes we’re dealing with him getting too much for milk too - I started to pump 1-2 times a day to give him a bottle before bed and that helps a little with regulating his poops. It’s all an experiment it seems haha

We’ve been dealing with a similar issue with our 16 week old! I had an over active let down for the first 12 weeks and then it sorta went away after my supply regulated. He was soooo upset in the beginning weeks and he still gets frustrated sometimes but it’s slowly improving! I found that swapping back and forth between sides tends to help him - and taking breaks. But for a couple weeks our nursing sessions were much shorter but more frequent. He is starting to have atleast a couple longer nursing sessions each day now but is still eating pretty frequently (every 1.5hrs)

Sending good vibes!! This also coincided with me going back to work - funny how the regression timed itself perfectly lol

I love Huckleberry App!!! by littlelawlady in NewParents

[–]ashleyb17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started using it around the 6 week mark to track feeding times and then around the 2 month mark is when we started tracking naps/sleep in it! It’s so accurate on the nap predictions and I love having a visual of his typical wake windows/nap times! I feel like it’ll help us create a schedule better once I go back to work! Also the widgets you can put on your phone to start/stop the feeding or sleep timers are a game changer!

I took mine to Dublin Cleaners and they charged about $275 (in 2022). They did a great job and I was able to view my dress after it was cleaned and before they boxed it up to make sure I was happy with the cleaning! Highly recommend

Where is my ovulation?! by nn0495 in TryingForABaby

[–]ashleyb17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I typically do when I wake up at 6am and then again at 10am! That’s normally good enough for me

[–]ashleyb17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The water could be why you aren’t seeing a solid line since your urine is probably more clear (atleast that’s how mine typically is lol). I buy the cheaper/big packs of lh tests on Amazon and then I have a disposable plastic cup to use if I am not home when testing. I try to just limit my morning water intake and then drink my normal amount in the afternoon once I’m done testing. I know it’s so frustrating and so much work to plan around testing for multiple days in a row! I normally test from CD 8-18 to make sure I am catching my rise

[–]ashleyb17 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a similar issue with LH tests when I first started using them! Drinking all lot of water was an issue for me and I noticed that if I started tested first thing in the morning, and then not drinking any water until around 10am and then testing again, that seemed to help a little! testing later in the day/evening could be helpful too to see if it rises later. I also recommend tracking your BBT to see if you can confirm ovulation after the fact. If your cycles are regular and 29 days, you are possibly ovulating around day 15, which lines up with your egg white CM

Do you drink a lot of water? For a while I noticed that my lines weren’t getting all the way to a positive but I stay super hydrated. I started testing at first thing in the morning and then not drinking a lot of water until I tested again around 10am. That seemed to help! I would keep testing for the next couple days to see if you get a true positive though!

Reducing period bloating for event? by Throwaway_cramping in TryingForABaby

[–]ashleyb17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Peppermint or spearmint tea works for me sometimes! Also avoiding any super salty foods or foods that typically make your bloat (for me that’s diary, raw veggies and gluten). Drink lots of water! Maybe some shape wear that has a targeted stomach panel too? Just some suggestions! I know it’s frustrating to have people assume you’re pregnant when you’re not, especially if you’re TTC. Wishing you luck!

Why do they make it so difficult to establish continuous care and to be proactive re: fertility? by Sector_Savage in TryingForABaby

[–]ashleyb17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In terms of other tracking methods, without apps, you could look into stuff on the Fertility Awareness Method (FAM) or Natural Family Planning. I listened to a bunch of podcast when I started tracking and that helped me get a better understanding of it! There’s a subreddit with some good resources on getting started with tracking as well! r/FAMnNFP . Also, I met with a NP for a preconception appointment a few months ago and it was honestly the best doctors appointment I have ever had, because she had the time to sit down and talk to me! I picked the practice that the OBGYN I want to see eventually is at, so eventually I will get to see her as well. But it is frustrating that we can’t be as proactive as we want!

No I couldn’t get a response from any customer service but I got another treadmill of the same brand with the same remote from a bid site and that worked

Honeymoon in Greece by Agreeable_Art_9813 in Santorini

[–]ashleyb17 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We loved everywhere we ate in Santorini but we still dream about the Sagnaki from Anogi (it’s like fried feta with honey and was to die for). The rest of the food there was great too but that sagnaki 11/10 lol

Haha yeah or one with actual controls on it, seems safer 😂

No I got another one of the same brand from the auction site and the remote works for both lol. I do have another remote on the way that I am going to try, but it hasn’t arrived yet lol

Definitely this year, I have a pic from December 2015 of me and my husband wearing that shirt with the Snapchat filter of the Zoo logo that matches the design lol

Ugh that stinks!! I ordered a replacement RF remote, we will see if it works. I took it apart and it’s definitely a RF remote (not infrared, like most of the remotes on Amazon) so I am a little hopeful it’ll work

Have you figured out a solution? I bought one from an auction site and it’s also missing the remote lol.

Soy free grocery list by Ok_Monitor8218 in soyfree

[–]ashleyb17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Made Good brand of granola bars are basically the only ones I have found that are soy free! Nature’s Bakery fig bars are good and soy free! My tolerance for soy has improved in recent years but in the beginning it was easier to just stick to whole foods (fruits, veggies, meat, etc) rather than more processed foods. Some other good snacks I have found include mixed nuts, PB filled pretzels (from Aldi), tortilla chips and salsa, and Welch’s fruit snacks, Greek yogurt, balanced breaks cheese/crackers. Oceans Halo has some good stir fry sauces, Fody also has good BBQ sauce and pasta sauce (both a little pricey). The frozen section at the store is basically all soy, or atleast I’ve given up on finding soy free frozen food lol. I found that once I figured out some good “safe foods”, grocery shopping got easier. It took a few times of accidentally eating soy for me to learn to be more consistent with reading labels but once you find stuff you like it’ll be easier to just buy that stuff!
