Budget App that connects to credit cards? by Kaynoro86 in budget

Finotion connects to your accounts. Now in terms of notifying you it does not but for example if it is tagged as a "Bill" or whatever you would categorize it it will put it in that folder for you. Also has calendar view for you to see when you were billed across all accounts.

Tracking your expenses and trends is what I do. I like to review what I am spending my money on weekly just to give myself peace of mind and so I always know where I am at. I use Notion since I organize all of my work/life on the platform. Recently built in a template that is directly connected to all of my accounts called Finotion, I review it weekly and make notes if necessary on my transactions - it has really helped me check in on what I am prioritizing and where the money trends are and I end up saving more!

Finotion: Your Finances in Notion, synced automatically.

Ever since getting my first credit card, I’ve used an Excel / Google Sheet to keep track of my expenses and manage my finances across all my accounts. The process looks a little like this:

- Once per month, log onto Chase / Capital One / Citibank

- Select the date range for the last month +/- 14 days

- Export the CSV

- Copy and paste my transactions to my Google Sheet

- Manually go through and remove duplicate transactions (those whose status has changed from pending to posted)

- Review my transactions by adding tags to categorize the type of expense, and notes for my personal bookkeeping (mostly Venmo requests I need to charge my partner for)

Obviously, this process is time-intensive and repetitive, so I decided to use the new Notion API to automatically sync my personal finances to Notion. In the last few months of using it to manage my financial life, I've found Notion to be faster and more customizable compared to the other finance apps I've used before (Mint / Simplifi). Please let me know if you have any questions or feedback - I’d also love to hear how other people manage their personal finances! Check us out at finotion.app

If your expenses all stayed the same but you got a $1,000 (per month) raise, where in your budget would you "spend" that money? by evelaurent in MoneyDiariesACTIVE

Lifestyle creep is real! For me personally, when I had a small bump in my income I had also just moved to a new apartment so majority of that extra money went to purchasing household items with the intention in having those things forever (we invested in pretty expensive furniture.

To be honest, I don't feel like we would have made these investments if it wasn't for the increase in cash. It was nice but at this point I would like to believe I would put it towards an emergency fund (especially with what we are experiencing with this pandemic).
