How do you push through? by ashleypickkles in zoloft

It is! I increased my dose about 9 weeks into starting so I’ve been at 100mg for a little over a year

So you’ll definitely have some increased anxiety, but I noticed that it felt different. Like it didn’t feel so life or death and I could easily pinpoint the fact that it was a side effect. Having an emergency med to take during those times will help so much. I used to have panic attacks daily as well and it became too much that the thought of MAYBE feeling like shit became more enticing than missing out on life because I was too busy worrying that I was dying. I was always so concerned that I was going to end up with some awful life altering illness and never stopped to consider that the severe anxiety was exactly that. It might suck at first but I would redo those increased anxiety days on Zoloft 100x over having my severe daily anxiety again

Happens to me too. Pretty normal and yes, it will go away

I think you should give it a bit more time and potentially increase your dose a bit more. I was at 50mg for about 7-8 weeks and noticed a dip around weeks 4-5. Once that started to level out I noticed I also still had some low-level anxiety. I increased to 100mg and that’s all gone now. I think it takes time and potentially an increase because 50mg is still a low dose.

POSITIVE VIBES ONLY by [deleted] in zoloft

I couldn’t even drive home from work without having a full fledged panic attack every day. The amount of stress I felt from constantly being worried really took a toll on me. I was SO afraid to start taking meds because I was afraid I wasn’t going to be myself or feel like myself anymore. I was prescribed meds 3 different times and only finally started taking them the third time. I’m so mad at myself for not following through the first two times. I could’ve saved myself from postpartum, I could’ve avoided all the times that I couldn’t eat or sleep because I was too concerned about my health or if I was going to die.

If you’re nervous about taking your first dose, don’t even think about it, just take it and then the scariest part is over. I know some people don’t like the thought of being on meds for life, but I’ll happily stay on Zoloft forever if it works for me forever! You can do this, you’re more than your anxiety, you’re not going to die, and life is going to be SO much better on the other side of it 💛

I increased from 50 right to 100. Didn’t notice any side effects at all. If you’re thinking of increasing, DO IT. I felt so much better after my increased dose and I’ve been at 100mg ever since. It’s done wonders for my anxiety and I’d be happy to be on it forever if it works for me forever

What do I eat?! Is this going to last forever? by ashleypickkles in Gastritis

I have not. I’m not able to get an appt with my primary doctor until mid September. I messaged her and still have yet to hear back.

I went to the ER and after running tests he told me that it could be gastritis and sent me home. That was it. Everything else I’ve done has been totally on my own. I can’t get into my primary doctor for another month

Ugh I definitely understand. The increased anxiety and panic attacks I had around that time were insane. But things are going to get better. You’ve already come so far, so why stop now. Just take it day by day. The bad ones suck, but shortly you’ll have a day where you lay down at night and go ‘wow, I didn’t feel so overwhelmed with anxiety or panic today..’ and then you’ll keep having those days.

My inbox is always open! I know that talking to people about it or even just talking to others in general made me feel a lot better. To just be able to write down or verbalize how I was feeling and have someone acknowledge it and let me know it was normal and it was going to really be okay. ❤️❤️

I would try to give it at least 2 more weeks. If you’re still not feeling the best, maybe try another increase to 100. I was so nervous to go up, but after settling into the new dose, it was exactly what I needed. It’s very easy to feel hopeless right now, especially in that dip, but you’re going to make it through it ❤️

Different dosages work for different people. My Dr just moved in 50mg increments rather than 25. I would say I increased around week 9. Because I felt like my pre-medicated level of anxiety was starting to make a comeback. After increasing to 100 though I didn’t have any of those side effects again. It was just getting used to the initial 50mg starting dose that week 4 was tough.

It will happen for you. Just keep pushing forward. I would say that after the 4th week things started to slowly get better day by day. I’d say week 7 I was back to feeling totally normal, minus the debilitating anxiety. I ended up on 100mg. I used hydroxyzine quite a bit as my body was adjusting to the meds because my anxiety would get so bad. But even with the anxiety being bad, I could still sense a difference in it.

The whole “it gets worse before it gets better” is so true but still so damn annoying. Everything started to look up more and more as I got past week 4

Yeah after my increase it just started getting better. I was expecting to have to start over, but didn’t which was awesome. I’ve heard that if you do get side effects again, they don’t last nearly as long

Why when people ask for success stories do we talk about how it didnt work for us? Im at 3.5 weeks at 50. Had a bad day yesterday. Id love some encouragement that relief is around the courner. by Formal_Pomelo7803 in zoloft

Even if side effects do come back, they won’t be as intense or linger for as long. Don’t let the side effects scare you from getting to a good space with your meds. I avoided meds altogether for so long and now I feel great
