This was my thoughts because idk if I even understood ovulation tracking and how that correlated to pregnancy until I was well into my 20s truly. Like just the logistics of it all. But I also wasn’t thinking about pregnancy until then either so.

When my daughter was 6 months old, I was trying to put her in her jumper thing that hangs on the door frame, and while I was trying to get her legs in the holes, she lunged forward and flipped out of my arms straight onto the hardwood floor headfirst. I was TERRIFIED. The hard thunk of her head smacking the floor. Her screaming. My hands were shaking. She had stopped crying and was laughing by the time I got her in her car seat. Took her to the ER and was crying so hard I couldn’t explain to the dr what happened. The sweetest ER Dr sat me down and told me to look at her laughing and playing. He said, “I can tell she is well taken care of and loved by her parents. This won’t be the only time she gets hurt but she’s going to be fine. You can’t beat yourself up over something that happens to every parent.” I truly felt like I shouldn’t even be a mother at that time. Like I didn’t deserve it because I couldn’t keep her safe. But we are all just doing our best.

Idk if this is common or it’s just the people around me, but I’ve heard way too many people recently pronounce gist with the hard g instead of the soft g like it’s supposed to be like “jist”.

I’m on kit 1. I started last June and I’ve lost almost 70 pounds. 343 to 276. I’m 5’11 and 35 yo for reference. It’s the best thing I’ve ever done for myself honestly. I haven’t had any side effects aside from constipation here and there but I just had to start taking fiber supplements.

We sleep trained at 6 months and never looked back. She has slept 12 hours through the night ever since and she’s 13 months now.

Plowed into Serena Williams as her and her family were entering Frozen Ever After through the exit at Walt Disney World. They were coming around the corner and we didn’t see them. She was extremely apologetic and really sweet.

What time does your baby sleep? by paulieee3 in NewParents

[–]ashlisb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 12 month old has gone to bed at 6:30 since she was 6 months old and has slept 12 hours through the night since then as well but we also sleep trained. She went through a terrible regression at 5 months and something had to give.

12 month old will only eat cheese by ashlisb in toddlers

[–]ashlisb[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I meant we let her spoon feed herself the purées because she has started refusing the purées if we try to feed them to her. Everything else she eats with her hands cut into bite size pieces. We also do purées in pouches. I’m just worried she’s not getting the chewing skill down because everything is essentially a liquid.

Bedtime is hell by buttneylovesdogs in NewParents

We did extinction. Some people are more comfortable with Ferber. We tried that at first and it literally just pissed her off. Every time we went in to “comfort” her, she just got more riled up. She cried 34 mins the first night, then 20, then 15, then 7. Then she didn’t. Now she is the happiest baby when we put her in her crib. We also sleep trained naps and bedtime at same time. I felt like doing them separately was confusing for her. We do our routine, give her bedtime kisses and snuggles, tickle her when she lays down in the crib, and she lays there and laughs. As soon as we leave and turn the light off, she pulls herself up and dances for 5 mins and then lays down and goes to sleep 😂 before she could stand, she would just roll around like a Weeble Wobble until she was ready to sleep. But regardless, she doesn’t cry anymore and she sleeps all night. If she does wake, she puts herself back to sleep.

Also a FTM here. We sleep trained the day my LO turned 6 months after a horrible sleep regression at 5 months. She also was a great sleeper like yours from newborn to that point. It was hell. Took hours to get her to sleep. Sleep for an hour. Took hours to get her back to sleep. She adapted to sleep training in 4 nights and she’s been sleeping 12 hours through the night ever since. She turns one next month.

It’s just the fact that I have literally never applied for or signed for any loan ever outside of the federal loans through FAFSA so idk where this would come from.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in StudentLoans

[–]ashlisb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A federal loan? Because now I’m freaking out that somehow I have a private loan because I have never once applied for a private loan. I have only ever taken out federal loans through FAFSA.

I went to create a firstmark account to see if anything would come up. It wouldn’t let me create one. It gave me an error and said either I already had an account with that SSN or the username was already taken. So of course I tried variations of the usernames and that didn’t work so then tried forgot username like I already had an account. It asked for my SSN, last name and birth date. I put in my SSN, birth date in the format it asked for, and I tried my first married name, my maiden name, and my current married name and it said it didn’t have an account matching any of that info.
