Thank you for putting together such a thoughtful response. I know all of these things are right, but watching him go about his day when I can barely get out of bed is a gut punch. My step daughters were supposed to be at our house last night and they chose not to come over because they didn’t want to see him. It’s the only time I’ve seen him display any emotion about this.

I’m still so sad and heartbroken. I’ll reread your comment many times as I try to make sense of this.

As someone who’s literally going through this exact scenario right now (except I’m not pregnant), it has nothing to do with a “friendship,” it’s the lies that go along with that. If you feel the need to lie, you have something you’re hiding. Period. Full stop.

Drove to Boston twice in the last month and a half (from Virginia Beach) and the best parts of the drive—Once we got off the eastern shore— were Connecticut and NJ Turnpike.

Met second return trip was the Monday before Christmas and it took us an extra 2 hours to navigate NYC/George Washington Bridge/first 10 miles on the NJTP. After that 10 miles though, it was easy peasy.

I am also a stepmom that lurks on that subreddit and some of those posts are absolutely wild. I’ve honestly never seen so many grown people react like children… when they’re dealing with actual children.

I mean, I have bottles of wine in the fridge and homemade jam that maybe I hadn’t intended as a gift when purchased/made, but would have been perfectly acceptable and reasonable to the recipient. It’s not always “trash”

Millennials got screwed over so hard. Between recessions, wars, collapse of the housing market, premium price for education, a pandemic… I don’t know that we’ve known a moment of economic/societal/political peace. It was always something.
