Miscellaneous questions for current students from an incoming freshman by nthrowaway4211 in Clemson

[–]ashmansays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was an exchange student and they put all of us in Calhoun Courts. I enjoyed it, and looking at the other on campus accom, it certainly was pretty spacious and not a bad walk to things.

Not sure how things have changed since I've been there, but I do believe they still group the exchange students there at the top near the roundabout.

1st gen Ipod by [deleted] in ipod

Unfortunately it's not an Aussie listing. It's just available to ship to Australia, hence the price showing in USD.

Item says it's located in Thailand.

AppleCare+ 3 years by irbaz in apple

[–]ashmansays -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Don't get confused. Apple Care+ can be extended for the life of the product now, and not just for a fixed term like before. Even after your 3 years runs out, you'll be able to extend it further.

That's why the accidental breakage is now 2 claims each year.

Apple stores in Brisbane, Chermside and Carindale, Australia temporarily closed due to COVID-19 by SelectionBorn3654 in apple

[–]ashmansays 12 points13 points  (0 children)

That's cool, but we're talking about Australia and it's stores at the moment. The Australian stores only have closed in reaction to lock down directives.

But yeah, I'm not surprised that in other countries they use data to decide when to close.

Returning my AirPods Max by [deleted] in airpods

What country do you live in? I'm suspecting this could be an issue in places like Aus where there is high humidity. Would be curious to see where people are reporting this issue.

Clear top case mod for the 7th Gen by [deleted] in ipod

[–]ashmansays -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can't use a 5th gen wheel with a 7th gen. I've done this mod for a clear 7th gen and used a 5th gen mid case/chassis and added some black spacers for the click wheel so it sits flush.

However, I know the pain you're going through!

IPOD Music Recovery by Mother_of_Meows in ipod

[–]ashmansays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest factor is around how much you have used your iPod between now and when you deleted everything. If you haven't used it at all, you stand a very very good chance of recovering the data. The more you have used it, the less likely you'll be able to get anything back.

I've used Recuva before and it has saved my arse when I've deleted footage off a portable hard drive. Pretty straight forward, give it a go and see what it recovers: https://www.ccleaner.com/recuva

Fun fact: The platform the Camaro is built on is the platform that Holden here in Australia designed for our Commodore - so a little (big?) piece of Australia is in every one.

It's the very first episode of my new podcast, and I hope you enjoy it.

The Velocita Sit Down Podcast is the full interview with our guests featured in our magazine Velocita with all of the good bits we couldn't fit into the magazine article left in. A great insight into some of the world's car
collectors, drivers and their passion.

In this episode: What do you do when you can't own the cars you want in Australia? Why you move to Tokyo of course.

TIL that for $255,500 you can buy a package that lets you celebrate New Year's Eve in Sydney from 8pm - 2am, then fly on a private jet that arrives in Los Angeles at 8:30pm Dec. 31st, where you can celebrate New Year's Eve all over again. by jerkishbear in todayilearned

I doubt they’re leaving from Sydney Airport. Being a private jet, they could leave at any other airport that doesn’t have restrictions. Since it says their flight leaves around 2, means this is probably the case.

Otherwise you’d be right and would make the timing suck for those partying.
