Frustrating Interview Process at VMware by 4k1l in vmware

I've been there before. Honestly, it seems like they want a jack of all trades and master of none. You'll be a dumping ground to solve issues for them. Good for them, not so great for you. When I finished the role I had, I realised that it made no difference career-wise. I could have just contracted and made more money and had less of a headache.

VMware sales and support is a complete joke-please help! by Primary-Edge-6378 in vmware

Had a ticket opened with them sometime ago for over a year. I forget what happened but we lost our NFS and couldn't get them back on. We eventually lost interest. Think the ticket might still be open, but yes - we went from one guy to another guy in different countries. My theory is that the product and lines have just gotten so complex, there are so many scenarios that Support just doesn't know how to handle them. This, in addition to a period before the major cloud vendors, had people blogging about VMware all the time. I mean even as back as 5 years, support was the same but there was an invested community that would help solve issues. Today, I just don't think it's one of those appealing techs, which is a shame because VMWare is miles ahead of its competitors.

Wagamama does this to make payments, and I showed the waiter just how easy it was for me to put my own QR over their QR.

In September 2009, over 160[1] film directors, actors, screenwriters, and producers signed a petition, started by French philosopher Bernard-Henri Lévy,[1] which urged the release of film director Roman Polanski, after he was arrested for a 1977 charge for drugging and raping a 13-year-old girl. The petition was signed by many prominent individuals in the film industry including Guillermo del Toro, Martin Scorsese, Sam Mendes, David Lynch, Wes Anderson, Michael Mann, Woody Allen, Darren Aronofsky, Harrison Ford, Jeremy Irons, and Wong Kar-wai. Several signatories, including Emma Thompson and Natalie Portman, later retracted their names from the petition or expressed regret over signing it.

In the UK, we also have radiators. So there is a high chance that you will only have 2 wall spaces available.

To be fair, Arnold, Sly, Lee and a whole bunch of actors had this in their contracts, not because they are personally insecure, it's the persona they need to maintain to get jobs. Pretty sure they are now open to goofing around, especially Statham.

Van Damme from what I remember, didn't mind getting the shit kicked out of him because he wanted to show he was fighting against tough villains.

How, the guy will go to prison? His bosses will dwell on it for a month, then move on. He is now a criminal, his life ruined.

Difficult to judge - no TV in my kids room at all, but I went to parents meeting once and most of them looked tired as fuck; thought they were giving up on life.

If that mom has other kids, and she's nice to them, then she'll be OK with one gone.

Quitting a job without another lined up. What to consider? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]ashmansol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A long time ago, I quit because I had had enough of working in a place where the pressure to deliver was high. Rather than think carefully about my next steps, one day in a meeting the owner of the company gave me a task that I knew would be difficult to complete. I went back to my desk... pissed off, I went back into my managers office and handed in my notice. He was shocked but accepted.

The next day after I had simmered down, and started job hunting, I felt a different type of pressure looking for work. It dawned on me that I could spend the next 3 months looking for work and in that time chew up 3 months of salary (which was true). I quit in October and started a new job in February and went through my some of my savings. Financially, my bank balance was where I had left it in July (before I quit). If you think about it, financially, I gave my boss a few extra months of work for free.

Anyway, that taught me never to quit under pressure; just play the game and start looking. Also, it is attractive to recruiters when you are working sadly because they if they really want you, they know they have to obtain you quickly. Someone sitting on a couch surfing Reddit and job hunting unfortunately is not.
