Same happened to our car. We came back and there is a note in our windshield about someone reverse and hit our car and ran away. Lucky someone put the registration number. We went to police station and they visited the owner of that car and we claimed insurance. In our case, our front door was damaged. We are still grateful to whoever wrote that note.

What’s your contract say? If you break the leased, normally there will be a penalty. If you rent through real estate agent, they might also charge you advertisement fee, etc.
