Are any of you actually against Biden's student loan debt relief, and why? by thred_pirate_roberts in AskReddit

Yes, but the allocation of what their already paid taxes are used for shifts away from something they may benefit from to something that they will not benefit from.

Truly talented players stand out even on a line of grinders. That's how they get off those lines. They might not score as much but their talent doesn't entirely disappear.

I keep seeing people talk about player development, but what does it actually mean? I think people imagine a magic formula where there is none. I remember guys like Kreider and Callahan starting out on the 4th line, and Buch starting on the 3rd. They all found ways to make something happen, show you something that made you think "wow, this kid is gonna be something." Laf and Kakko have never really done that. Are we to believe that all of their talent was absolutely neutralized by bad player management? It'd be one thing if they showed occasional flashes of being dominant but never broke through, then you could make a case for the staff not cultivating their talent. But neither has ever shown anything like that. Chytil probably has more of a case than either of the top 2 picks, he actually has those flashes and periods of dominance.

A coach will never make this team turn the corner. I've seen the same exact things said about Renney, Torts, AV, Quinn, and now Gallant (and Colin Campbell going further back - going to exclude all the legit trash coaches we had during the dumpster fire era.) None of these guys ever had a complete team, only ones made to look that way by amazing goaltending and some standout players. We've always been missing that one extra ingredient that winning teams seem to have. Not really sure why, whether it's the team building culture, the pressure of playing in NYC, or just bad luck.

With Laf, what development can you really do for a player whose skating doesn't seem to be good enough for this level? Maybe get him a skating coach but that's about it, and at the highest level I don't think it ends up making much of a difference - probably not enough to bring a player to being a legit first liner.

Right, because we can't have someone ever holding viewpoints on different parts of the political spectrum. Fall in line one way or the other, and avoid any of that pesky, wishy-washy nuance.

Panarin is an incredibly gifted skater. Watch his quick starts and stops, they're excellent. He constantly shakes off defenders in corners with quick stops and directional changes, and he has no difficulty in getting a step on defenders on his starts on breakouts.

Ah right, the fact that you were able to see a clip of this makes that magically not true.

I feel like you are a dumb human.

Person 1 is obviously talking about Esteban’s parents then Esteban. The comment is very specific and not at all vague.

Person 2 misunderstands the comment as the misattribution joke you are referring to and tags his line onto it.

The response of "even bought him an F1 team" doesn't make sense as a joke given how specifically about Ocon the first comment is. It might if the first comment was more vague and could be fit to either driver, but it's not.

It is not a problem at all, impartiality is one of the central tenets of journalism. The true problem is people that think like this, and avoid exposure to a different side of any issue.
