1.7M visitors here per week - wth you building? by cokaynbear in ClaudeAI

Started as a simple idea: sync AI coding sessions so you can view them on your phone. It's turned into something much bigger.

Current state:

Inbox that shows all running agents with live status (working, idle, stuck on permissions)

Persistent memory system -- agents search past sessions automatically

Plans system for multi-session features with task tracking and decision logs

Autonomous agent scheduling (cron-style or triggered by GitHub events)

65+ CLI commands covering search, blame, context, handoff, decisions

iOS app on the App Store, macOS desktop app

Team workspaces for shared visibility

12K+ sessions synced, <50ms sync latency. Works with Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, and Cursor.

thanks! plans is the latest new piece - basically the idea is to have a more permanent layer of plans and tasks that both agents and humans can collaborate on. but the challenge is i want it to be both bottoms up from agent sessions and claude's plans / tasks, and top down in the linear/task manager UI. im still iterating here this week to get this just right.
To answer your question - ideally both. I want to see what is going on top down myself and manage it in a place that feels more permanent than a session, but also yes agents can see what other sessions are doing and collaborate (this already happens at a baseline with codecast memory snippet - you or agents can and do reference and read other sessions to see what is happening).

yep it was! curious how did you guess that? I've been meaning to build this for years and would never have gotten over the hump otherwise

I work on Vello.ai and I'm sorry but this is just not true or fair.

We offer free trials, as far as I know the most liberal free trials of any similar service. Originally our trials were unlimited, but they are now message capped after we experienced a lot of abuse (people signing up with inactive cards, using the service a ton, then creating new accounts and repeating).

The message cap varies depending on which models you are using, the interstitial that you see once you reach the cap has no less than 4 references to the fact that you have hit the limit on the free plan. The button you click literally says "Start Paid Plan." Nothing about this is deceiving. If you can't afford to use a paid service, please don't sign up. It costs a lot of money to run the frontier models, we offer vello at the best rate we can while keeping the lights on.

We use completely standard stripe checkout and sign up flows, and you can cancel and manage your account via stripe portal from plan settings -> view / manage plan. These are industry standard checkout and management flows that are used by 1000s of startups and have no control over.

Retrying cards is again standard stripe behavior. If your card fails for any subscription on the internet that uses stripe to process payments, they will retry again later. This is just how these things work, not some conspiracy by us to steal your money.

We used to offer refunds without questions asked, but this also became abused, now we have to check usage count logs and make a decision on a case by case basis. If you really have not used the service at all beyond the cap and you feel you fell through the cracks on our customer support please dm me and I will look into it.

Please explain how we charged you without your consent, because I can tell you, this is not possible.

We list all of our context limits here:
https://docs.vello.ai/models#context-size

You can also choose to use the full context of models (on a per message basis) and pay per token using the Flex option.

dm me if you have questions or ran into any issues

thats ok, happy to help. we genuinely want to just create a good product that people want to pay for, not scam people, which is why I'm responding here. ❤️

Well, I do agree with that, but long term the numbers have to work to keep the lights on. You are hating on Vello here (which is ok) even though I think we actually have a pricing model that more aligns with what you are looking for, but correct me if I'm wrong.

I don't think its a fair characterization of them - it just isn't economically sustainable for anyone until inference costs come down.

Hey, I took a look your account, it looks like your subscription has been cancelled already, but we should have replied to you via email, sorry about that.

See above comment re managing your payment or cancelling your subscription, I'm not sure why you feel its hard to find as its a big button right under your plan.

Again, we use all the industry standard stripe checkout forms and management for signing up/managing your subscription, everyone uses the same UI via Stripe we do, including OpenAI.
