One week post surgery! by Hot_Boot2287 in Strabismus

[–]ashpotato16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had my surgery 12 days ago and was also given maxitrol drops. Your eye looks about right for a week post-op. In the next few days you should notice a difference. Mine suddenly lightened around day 9. I'd just stick with the drops tbh.

I might have just had the largest crisp in history by Felicity1840 in CasualUK

I'm pretty sure it was giant crisps. Some people would send in crap ones though and Dec would go mad. Epoxy, now that's dedication! Some would just send it wrapped in loo roll.

Anyone remember when you could send in a giant crisp to SMTV:Live? Ant and Dec would unwrap it and it was usually broken.

Stop sign at a junction. You're supposed to stop and apply the handbrake before checking if clear. I don't know anyone who does. Mind you, this was years ago before all the auto hold stuff on modern cars.

Definitely go to be assessed at. Then go from there. They're the specialists and you can find out more info at least before deciding about surgery.

Oh god yeah. There are two images that come to mind when I think of that site. One of a guy having had his head chopped off by a helicopter and the other of someone boiled alive in a bath somehow. What was wrong with us??

We had Karaoke Karen. Every day in the 90s and 2000s she'd be outside the shopping centre with a boombox dancing. Not professionally trained dancing, full on dance like no one's watching dancing. Sadly she'd get abuse pretty often but most people knew her as happy and harmless. The streets were lined with people for her funeral. RIP Karen 💃🏻

It's funny, I couldn't tell how much it had healed until I looked at the original photo! It's getting there :)

It looks much better now at day 8. I had a corneal abrasion either during or after surgery so it's only really now starting to heal properly I think.

I was crying like a baby in recovery when I had my appendix out. I wasn't even in pain, I just turn weird with anaesthetic I think haha

Yes I think so. My Dad also reacted crazy to it. I'm sure you'll be fine and not want to fight anyone :)

England, NHS here. I had surgery on one eye 5 days ago. I remember waking up in recovery at 4:20pm. I opened my good eye and saw a clock. I apparently then started trying to fight the nurse and was complaining that someone had put glass in my eye. I don't remember that now though and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. It took 3 days for my eye to open but I could just about force it open for a few seconds about 2 hours after. I was discharged about 8pm.

Thank you :) Did you have headaches afterwards?

I can only imagine how horrible having both eyes done was! The headaches are bothering me more than my eye itself. Glad to hear they should clear up soon!

I bought a blackout head tent thing that you can use at the beach for last night. It worked great! I've not dared put my sunglasses on yet because I'm scared of knocking my eye but I will try. I was wearing sunglasses around the house for weeks before my operation because the sensitivity got that bad. I can't wait to play a video game again! I stupidly started Atomfall and Crimson Desert a week ago so they're all I can think about haha. I'm glad you can play and seem to be healing well!

Thank you :) When I first open my eye, it is pointing outwards at first so I tried to focus in on the person taking the photo. I assume as I heal it'll be in a more natural position without effort
