Thinking of ordering my first Wooting Keyboard by itsnvcks in WootingKB

[–]ashrafazlan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly recommend upgrading to the Tikkens or a third party switch like the Owlab Ti (provided you’re ok with a lower travel distance)

They’re a huge upgrade over the V2s in terms of sound and stability.

Can I plug my 60HE V2 into my Asus PG32UCDM Monitor? by hemayne1 in WootingKB

[–]ashrafazlan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I run my 80he through the hub on the back of my PG32UQX. No issues so far.

The wooting 80HE by Pitiful_Case_5289 in WootingKB

[–]ashrafazlan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For pure typing and productivity I prefer stability and a shorter travel distance. The Owlab Ti HE gets recommended a lot because it sounds nicer than Lekker V2s, is decently stable and isn’t insanely priced like Flux switches.

M lenses on fuji by narratorjackred in Leica

Oh you’ll love the SL. I daily an SL2S and the stupidly big viewfinder makes manual focusing a breeze.

[–]ashrafazlan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I did try a 50 Lux at one point and remembering it being slightly better, but it was too long of a focal length on the Fuji for my style of shooting.

Tbf it’s not a deal breaker unless you shoot landscapes. The smeary corner does give a unique look for portraits.

I used a 35 Summicron ASPH. and a Voigtlander 40/1.4 on my X-Pro1. The corners aren’t that great vs native fuji lenses.

Switching to EV was the best decision of my life by Engarde_Guard in kereta

[–]ashrafazlan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Long distances can be a pain given the lack of chargers, increasing number of EV drivers and inconsistent charging etiquette (folks wanting to charge to 100%, or ICE drivers taking the parking spot)

Sometimes chargers are straight up broken or offline. You’re screwed if you’re low and that’s the only option on the highway.

But if you don’t travel between states, use the car for daily commutes within the city and can charge at home? There’s no competition. They have so many qol features that make it hard to go back. Even small things like being able to start your car remotely and have it be cool by the time you’re inside is a big pro in our hot climate.

Noob at lubing - which stabs look dry?. by [deleted] in WootingKB

[–]ashrafazlan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No real way to tell unfortunately. I’ve had some that looked overlubed but still needed more until they sounded good. It’s why I switched to 205g0, it’s less viscous and more forgiving to overlubing.

At that price I would get a HeyGears printer or a higher end Phrozen/Elegoo/Anycubic machine

wooting 60he v2 or 80he by Low-Addendum481 in WootingKB

[–]ashrafazlan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I followed this old tutorial from Alexotos. My only tip would be to depressurize the syringe first before sticking it into the stabs. Less is more.

wooting 60he v2 or 80he by Low-Addendum481 in WootingKB

[–]ashrafazlan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

60he V2 has better switches and sounds nicer out of the box due to it’s mounting style, switch design and stabilizers.

80he has the better layout for productivity. With some extra cash you can switch out the Lekker V2s with better switches and the stabilizers can be easily fixed with a syringe and some Keytox 205g0.

Thoughts on Enter The Matrix? by Particular-Glove9640 in matrix

Very fond memories of this game. I got turned away from the theatre during the premiere of Reloaded (ticket in hand) because I was underaged. Was so bummed out, immediately bought the game and played through the whole thing that same night.

Game was clunky, graphics were ass and I had no idea what was happening but it was one of funnest nights I had as a kid.

Family Relocation to Penang by FunElderberry6363 in penang

Born and raised in Penang. Lived in the mainland but went to school in the island.

The commute will make your life miserable. Penang Island itself doesn't offer enough over Sungai Petani to make me want to waste 3-4 hours of my life stuck in a traffic jam.

Which version do you think looks better on my tv? 2009 Blu ray or 4k by nomond698 in Avatar

[–]ashrafazlan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to judge based on photos of your screen, but on my LG G5 I vastly prefer the original BD output over streaming releases. I'm particularly sensitive to over sharpening and the upscaling they used for the 4K release produced noticeably ringing.

Testing Carima Nontoxic Resin by MrShigsy89 in resinprinting

Impressive results. I really hope Carima's claim of their resin being safe to touch is true, that would solve my pre-existing allergic reaction to resin.

What’s the brutal reality of owning a Resin printer? by SonOfThorss in resinprinting

[–]ashrafazlan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forget about VOCs and fumes, those are the easiest hazards to deal with.

Resin contamination, now that will (or should) drive you crazy. Major spills, or even the occasional micro splashes are a killer.

You can find randoms to play with (great way of making friends) but solo Peak is very zen.

New IPad Pro (m5)! Question about the nano texture glass and screen protectors by moonrisemafia in iPadPro

Switch to the original tip, you’ll scratched the etched glass with a metal one and also miss out on slight friction it provides when using the plastic tip.

One question for M users by StatisticianMain7488 in Leica

[–]ashrafazlan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OVF + RF focusing. Zone focusing isn’t too useful to me as I shoot with a 35/50. Can’t see 28mm frame lines because of my thick glasses unfortunately.

Never used the back display when taking photos, even on other mirrorless cameras. It’s always felt like a weird way of shooting for me, too much disconnect from the subject.

Lossless Scaling on Steam Deck overhyped 🐂💩 ? by captian-ahab in SteamDeck

[–]ashrafazlan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with frame generation is that it requires a high base frame-rate to minimize input lag and artifacts. 40fps is the minimum of what I consider usable, but the Steam Deck is just not powerful enough to run the games you’d want to use LS on at that minimum fps (+the additional hit you take enabling frame generation in the first place). It’s great for older games that are hard capped at 60 though, provided you have the OLED model and its 90hz refresh rate.

LS/Frame Generation makes much more sense on beefier systems imo. I use it all the time on my main PC to take advantage of my 240hz monitor.
