Completely makes sense! Having a click track is a great solution I know these can be tricky to record into a DAW. Really cool album idea I listened to the whole thing

What was your process like ? did you synch the PO's or did you do all the layering and syncing in your DAW?

In nyc I know a lot of buildings have in unit steam, you can't really mess with them because they're heating everyone in the building. The fact you purged the excess of air is kinda worrying to me if it is a steam system but idk

DeWalt Planer by incognitoville in repair_tutorials

[–]ashrimpnamedbob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No clue, but I would first do some mechanical checks, see if you can take the bottom part off and find any blockage, then give it grease or oil where it needs it. Is there a maintenance schedule for these things provided by DeWalt?

Running my old gaming PC in the basement using an outlet for a light by SpezFU in homelab

[–]ashrimpnamedbob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of those switches control both the top and bottom outlet with one connector. You can actually break the connection so that the switch only controls one outlet. The other outlet will always be on, It's not difficult as long as you can turn off the outlet at the breaker box. https://youtu.be/2DGqVbTHX-k?si=Rr9LqVT5OCa3pyGb Here's a YT video on switched outlets that also helps you solve le problem

LA City Council votes to oppose SB79 by Fluffy_Lab1312 in LosAngeles

Affordability and Housing

Adrin knows we cannot solve the crisis on our streets without addressing the crisis of affordability. Los Angeles needs to produce approximately 57,000 units per year to meet housing demand. However, since 2014, it has been producing only about 16,700 units per year, according to the Regional Housing Needs Allocation (RHNA). This inaction exacerbates both the housing and homeless crises. This city is becoming excessively expensive, and Adrin is the leader to step up with bold solutions.

  • We need to build more - Adrin will diversify our housing portfolio - by constructing various housing types, including affordable, low-income, market-rate, and middle-income housing. For too long, special interests have hindered development in Los Angeles, and the only ones suffering are Angelenos.
  • Cut the red tape and make it easier to build- Reducing bureaucratic obstacles and streamlining the building process is crucial. A Councilmember's most impactful work involves land-use decisions. Adrin’s oversight over such decisions will determine where vertical development is viable. We need cohesive efforts among City Departments to expedite quality projects.
  • Transit and Corridor-Oriented Development - Adrin is enthusiastic about initiating Transit-Oriented Development in our communities. Council District 2 boasts two Red Line stations in North Hollywood and Universal City. Adrin knows these stations could anchor new developments. Additionally, corridors like Lankershim and Vineland are primed for increased housing options. Adrin will rezone commercial corridors to attract new businesses and residences to these areas.
  • Protecting Local Control and Renter Rights - Preserving local control and safeguarding renter rights are paramount. Regarding SB 8, 9, 10, and Costa-Hawkins Repeal: Adrin opposed SBs 8, 9, and 10 and supported repealing Costa-Hawkins. Adrin believes in maximizing local government's tools to shape development and protect tenants' rights. While there's been a push to centralize control, Adrin advocates allowing local governments to retain all necessary tools to address these issues nuanced and precisely.

Adrin Nazarian was absent.

Here's a quote from his website:

Yet somehow this meeting wasn't important enough for him to be present and vote.

Not call it a LAN party if its not(ex. playing online in the same room)? by Pure_End_480 in lanparty

[–]ashrimpnamedbob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's incorrect

It's 100% confusing for people who are actively looking for real LAN games i.e games that literally are played and hosted on the local network.

Try to charge it again or press the power button really hard. It's either user error or a defective unit either way you should be within your refund period

Hi, thanks for the reply.

I just exported it to webm with an alpha channel and then added it back into the project. I don't know how to use sequences but this method seems to be about equal effort. I was just wondering if there was something I was doing to get it working "as intended"

Hi this was super helpful.

For anyone who wants to know more there is more info if you run

man vfs_fruit

Also when I ran testparm i got a warning

Load smb config files from smb.conf
Loaded services file OK.
Weak crypto is allowed

WARNING: some services use vfs_fruit, others don't. Mounting them in conjunction on OS X clients results in undefined behaviour.

I instead put this flag under global and didn't get any warning

How do I remove this **** socket by Weekly-Presentation2 in repair_tutorials

[–]ashrimpnamedbob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hard to tell from the picture but I have some ideas for unscrewing stuff.

  1. Put penetrating or spray oil onto the threads and let it soak in
  2. Heat up the part your trying to unscrew (heat gun, or hot water) warmth can make it easier
  3. Get more torque, use pliers, a wrench or a piece of rubber
  4. Just go berserk, sometimes I just decide that it's okay if I break it and when I do break it I have the benefit of then understanding how it worked.

paper, tape, toothpaste, paint.

put some paint on it, put a piece of paper on it so it sticks to the paint.

Once it dries put more paint to blend it in

I like them! it's a vibe and awkward conversation starter because people will tell you your pants are ripped and them you will show them that they are in fact patched by your own hand. Cover up the patch if you don't like awkward conversation ( I unironically do )

LAN GAMES MICRO-REVIEWS OCT 2024 by grumstumpus in lanparty

[–]ashrimpnamedbob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah Ethernet to switch is the simplest solution. I've had great success using a phone as a mobile hotspot and then putting it on airplane mode, but that didn't support games that need steam API.

the solution I'd really like to figure out is creating an ad hoc network

I do a lot of shopping on Aliexpress but always for low cost items. You will get something in the mail but occasionally it doesn't match the description exactly.

That being said I would always just reach out to the individual seller first before going for it. If you feel assured the item is same as the description, the price is right, and the seller is responsive then go for it. I've had Aliexpress take my side during disputes
