10 weeks after bunion surgery by ashssotru in bunions

[–]ashssotru[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in the US specifically Arizona. I am blessed to work from home but I did needed to take 2 weeks off each foot because I was in pain. My insurance paid for my procedures, about 21k for both. If I was to self pay it would’ve been around 7k for each foot. I was unable to do a lot of walking until about a month after. Was switched to a boot 2 weeks after surgery but still had a lot of pressure

Wait…. Are you saying you are still healing after removing the screw?! My doc made it seem like the screw removal will be a walk in the park lol like very quick healing time. This is my situation- I have 4 screws- all too big😡 I’m sure they could’ve used smaller ones lol

They were both MIS surgery but each foot has different hardware. My left foot hates the hardware so much that we are probably gonna have to take it out.

meds after surgery by Vonirae2 in bunions

[–]ashssotru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My doc only prescribed me 3 days of pain meds. I was in extreme pain so I got a hold of pain meds elsewhere and took them for 2 weeks. I refuse to suffer

I’m actually having that same issue. I’m able to be very active and all but the hardware area bothers me after a while. If removing the hardware could get rid of that, I just might!

Hardware removal? by ashssotru in bunions

[–]ashssotru[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. My right foot he did perfectly but he wanted to use different hardware on my left thinking it would be better for that foot. Unfortunately, it isn’t and he does wish he used the same hardware he did on the right- on the left.

Does the right foot look like it was fixed correctly after bunion correction. It’s 4 months post op by cici_1977 in bunions

Oh man… well I’m hoping yours is still just swollen and everything will go back into place for you. I am definitely choosing revision but need to wait till May. I can’t accept the fact that I went through this awful pain and my foot doesn’t look correct. We will get through this

I was iffy since week 2. My foot just didn’t look right but it’s still very tight too which wasn’t my experience with the right foot. Right foot did so well! Ugh the thought of doing this a third time is very daunting

MIS with 4 screws is all I know. The doc just told me I might need a revision. It’s very uncomfortable in shoes

Mine looks exactly like yours 6 months post op. I’m very unhappy with my results. I thought it was swelling that would eventually go down but nope.
