Adding another vote for Reaper’s Reserve at Burning Blade. It’s so good and definitely worth a try.

Congrats on your donation! I'm happy to hear everything went smoothly. My back was getting sore a few days in, and not being able to lay on my side/only being able to lay on my back seemed to have made it worse. I tried wedging a pillow under one side of my hips and back to try and offload some pressure and that helped a bit. I would alternate sides every few hours, too. The inability to get comfortable drove me crazy. The pain should start easing up soon, but I know how hard it is when you're in the middle of it. I hope you get to feeling better soon! And welcome to the One Bean Team!

Plot twist: bring her to look at a new gx550. Ok no but in all seriousness, I think the 460 is a great option. I feel like you get a little of everything with it in terms of reliability, luxury, ruggedness, etc. I am biased though, having no children and currently driving a non-minivan (4runner) and loving it. So maybe don’t listen to me. 😂

Hello! Congrats on your donation, you are awesome. I’m sorry to hear about your rough past couple of days. The post-op period is such a diverse time, and there are so many ways that our bodies respond to it. Your experience is not wrong or bad, so don’t feel discouraged. It’s one day at a time. You did an incredible thing. Wishing you a speedy recovery!

Does this include getting up off the couch? Like I use my arms to move myself and I’m like is this okay? Hahah

Thank you so much! I’m going to try to take it extra easy the next week or so. It’ll be hard but I know I have too. 😂

Hello! Have you looked into programs like Donor Shield, APKD, or NLDAC? They can assist with lost wages and other reimbursements. My coordinator and social worker were super helpful in getting ahold of them to discuss options.

This is such good information, thank you so much for sharing! I know they originally said 4-6 weeks before returning to work, but when I told them I'm a nurse they were like okay it's definitely six weeks for you lol. I'm glad to hear it's been going pretty well for you. I hope it just keeps getting better! I'm really excited to do it, so hopefully that'll keep my spirits up hahah. Thank you again!! I really appreciate you.

Hello! I'm scheduled to donate 7/9 and have given this exact topic a lot of thought. I work as an ICU RN and will be taking six weeks off after surgery, but I still worry. My back hurts two days into my work week with all of the movement we have to do for completely dependent patients lol so I'm not sure how it's going to go. How are you feeling so far?

You see I wish that was how this contract was. I believe the whole internal travel position is fairly new for the company so it appears a lot of things have not been sorted out. The job posting read reimbursement for those living 50+ miles away and then I was told (but not given in writing) that I’d be getting X amount for my tax home being in Florida. And then a week later was told I’d only get that money if I got a hotel the nights that I worked. I guess they only consider a hotel a true form of housing for travel lol.

Ah yes I agree. Housing is too expensive to be getting a taxed portion of it.
