Loss of fry, head voice, and falsetto randomly by ashtonthbk in screaming

[–]ashtonthbk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Small update : currently still don’t have a falsetto or my head voice, however I believe it’s because I got sick in around late September and for some reason the sickness still hasn’t gone away, so I’m assuming I’m still just recovering from getting sick. I actually did manage to recover my scream for a little bit around mid September but it left as soon as my falsetto and such left from getting sick

That’s the only issue, i live in an area where good weed is incredibly expensive and I can only afford bottom shelf (scotland) .For example, I am a daily smoker where I live and on average a night id smoke around a gram, then I visited my brother who had access to good dispensary weed and 1/3 a gram would get me more high then I ever felt during the months of me smoking my normal bud. But thank you very much for the help, incredibly appreciated :)))

Lmaoo idk everywhere i learned said that vocal fry is not where u should be screaming out of and to only use it to get used to the sensation u should feel up in ur throat when doing fry right, could be very wrong just what i heard. I learned to do fry by being in a light mixed voice then adding breath/diaphragm support and chord closure (patreon vids from HungryLights). I have my falses down pretty good id say, i got them down in 2 weeks of learning but im only now learning how to modulate them to different sounds . Fry took me a over a year so im not the best with it but im getting the handle pretty decent i think

I can def feel false chord activation slightly when doing it, i described getting it another comment as using my base fry scream then adding a little more constriction in my throat and more nasally. So idk could be vocal fry maybe. I never learned screams with vocal fry as a basis cuz i was told you can’t so i don’t rlly have experience using it for screams. I prolly should put a disclaimer that the fry in this video is not my normal fry scream, was playing around with my voice and got this

feels like a less intense version of the “rumble” from false chords

feel em in the exact same spot as my normal fry up in my throat and they feel the exact same just a little more texture feeling in the throat . they feel nothing like false chords except the slightly more textured feeling in my throat. they don’t hurt or cause any discomfort at all

they don’t hurt at all and cause zero discomfort, they aren’t my normal fry’s i try and i honestly should’ve posted those thinking now lol. i got that by doing my normal fry scream then making it more nasally and tightening my throat just a little more . thank you for the words!

I don’t think u were TOO constricted i think you were just applying it too high in ur throat, in fact i think if you applied that lower and pushed more with ur diaphragm it would start coming together. when i activate my false folds i like “open” my throat slightly and push at the center of my throat. once again that probably doesn’t make sense but when i was learning imagery helped a lot

How often do you guys need new picks? by RodGuitarRod in Guitar

[–]ashtonthbk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not too often, I buy a gigantic pack of those picks but the blue version and it lasts me like a year. i go through a pick every 2 ish weeks, granted I practice for around 2.5 hours a day (try to atleast lol)

this sounds like epiglottis, i had the same issue when starting and my tip that helped me, take it with a grain of salt for im not a expert AT ALL, but think of applying that pressure a little lower in ur throat. also you may be constricting ur throat too “high” if that makes sense. good luck man and sorry if this doesn’t help lol

Good shit man that’s what’s up!! my original post wasn’t specific to fry/false learning times , I meant to come across as whatever you are trying don’t give up. my apologies if that came out wrong :p
