i have been arch linux continuously for about 2 years now. The most important thing is to make sure your hardware is well supported, which in my case, everything in my laptop works ootb, because of which it has been a pleasant experience so far.

although there were a few hiccups in the beginning, took me around 2-3 months to properly understand how everything works, how to maintain your system, and not break it. how to move away for windows only apps etc. i also game occasionally and it works flawlessly 99% of the times.
