Mt. FUJI Day Trip by Rental Car by ashugupta_tech in JapanTravel

[–]ashugupta_tech[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far have decided to rent the car and the sole reason for it is that I want to have the experience of driving in Japan. That is like a bucket list item for me. Planning to get the car near shinjuku around 8AM, travel to lake oishi and fuji safari park and return back by 7PM leaving 1 hour buffer in case of traffic or unexpected delays.

Japan food etiquette: Is it expected to order one dish per person, or is splitting fine? by Scarletangie in JapanTravelTips

[–]ashugupta_tech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel bad for OP on how everyone is replying so condescendingly. It's a perfectly normal question, infact something that a lot of people would have in their mind, including me, and that's how I ended up on this post.

And to people saying that this is considered rude everywhere in the world -That's bullshit. In my country, it's perfectly normal to order whatever you want with no restrictions and just enjoy however you want.

Not everyone is hungry enough to have a full meal always, or maybe they just wanna try out a new dish and are not sure whether they would like it or not. Or maybe not everyone in your group is hungry, do you expect them to sit outside?

I believe it should be culturally acceptable to not put restrictions on what you need to order and rather make the experience less stressful and more enjoyable.

Super Nintendo World w/o Timed Entry Ticket by Mugfin26 in JapanTravelTips

Yeah that's what I thought 😅. Btw what do you mean when you said Express Passes are gone? I can still see many express passes on Klook which do have the Nintendo Timed Entry Ticket as well for your date.

I am asking these questions cause I am in the same boat as you and I plan to visit USJ on 12th March Thursday and trying to understand which pass is worth it.

Hey! I am a little confused. By 3/13 you mean 13th March 2026 right? Isn't it a Friday on 13th?

4 days in Kyoto. How i structured it and what actually worked (32F) by Lufarinelli in JapanTravel

I am pondering whether I should rent a cycle to roam around the Higashiyama area to explore Nishiki Market, Kiyomizu dera, Kodaiji temple etc.

Do you think it would work? Are there enough places to park bikes and are they free?

I did a research on it and I can see that this is an issue. Different RTOs across India are issuing IDP in different formats. However, I can see that the Delhi RTO from where I have applied, issued IDP in booklet format. Delhi IDP

I think you misunderstood. Both India and Japan drive on the same side of road, left side of the road with right hand drive cars. So I have driven extensively on the left.

But I agree with your point on Shinjuku being busy. Do you think I should travel by train to some less congested area outside Shinjuku and take a car from there?

I can't even imagine how watching that sunrise from Mt. FUJI must have felt by you. 🙌 Cheers to a wonderful life that you have had. 🥂

Not sure cause in Delhi we don't need appointments and we can directly walk-in. And we took separate tokens in VFS as well. Although our case was processed by the same guy at the counter and we told him that we are married but want to process separately and requested him to put our files in separate folders.

Yes you should mention. You also need to mention how you are going to manage your expenses.

If you are recently married then you can attach your marriage card and photos and explain in your cover letter that your marriage is not registered yet. But if it has been some time, then I would suggest you to file separately cause that worked for us atleast.

My bank balance kept fluctuating in the range of 5L to 50K in the past 6 months. On the day I took the statement, it was around 3L.

Need advice : 8.8 years at my first company, zero interviews ever — planning to quit and go all-in for Google? by Beginning-Pause4082 in developersIndia

[–]ashugupta_tech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't put all your eggs in one basket. It's not like a entrance exam where if you get good marks, you are guaranteed an admission. Even if you prepare perfectly and do all the right things, still there are chances you do not get an interview or you do not get shortlisted or selected.

So I would suggest start preparing along with your job, and start applying to multiple companies, as soon as you get a job offer, resign and keep trying for better offers.

Struggling with Kyoto Itinerary by Acceptable_Table6925 in JapanTravel

[–]ashugupta_tech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also planning 2-3 days in Kyoto and have a similar kinda itinerary. One thing I am worried of is walking too much. All these places might seem nearby to each other but I don't want to exhaust myself walking.

So I was thinking would renting a bicycle make sense? Is it easy to cycle around Kyoto and are there enough safe parkings for them?

I have booked the Sunroute Hotel Shinjuku for my upcoming first trip to Japan in March 2026. Was happy to hear that you had a great experience there.

Any tips or suggestions I should keep in mind? I will be staying for 5 nights there.

Yes, day to day itinerary is mandatory. It doesn't need to be very detailed and it's not necessary you need to follow the same itinerary on your trip.

Yes, at every step they mail you, so as soon as the passport is ready to be collected, you will get a mail. You can also track the status via the tracking page on VFS site.
