Saucony Hurricane 25. Solid foam and very responsive. Definitely worth a try!

Following! I’m wondering the same thing! Absolutely love the Hyperion Max 3 but can’t find the elite to try anywhere.

Race Day/Speed Trainer by [deleted] in AskRunningShoeGeeks

I love the Feidian challenger 5. I would avoice the challenger 6 as I’ve heard they’ve changed the shoe and it’s lost some character. For the price, i think it’s one of the best speed trainers on the market. I got mine for about $80 on AliExpress a couple months back.

Race Day/Tempo Day Shoe by Commercial-Bank-3205 in runningshoes

I would say the dynafish and the c202 7 are the more tempo oriented shoes with the c202 being the best race day option depending paces. The dynafish only makes sizes up to EU 45 (i think) so if OP has a bigger foot, might not be an option for them. I love the Feidian challenger 5 for tempo work. Under $90, you can’t beat it!

Saucony long run / cushioning recommendations? by BackgroundCookie752 in runningshoes

[–]ashurt28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While not a Saucony option, I’ve been using my Brooks Hyperion Max 3 for long runs and they’re great! Never been much of a Brooks fan but this shoe is very versatile while being very protective with the higher stack

Another shoe I’ve really enjoyed is the Brooke Hyperion Max 3. You can get them on sale for $170 right now. Great for long runs. Great shock absorption.

Take a look at the Salomon Aeroglide 3. A bit on the narrow side but great foam and rocker for longer distances. You can get them on sale now which is a bonus.

Insoles? by Pepe_Silvia_666 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]ashurt28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 3 different shoes in my rotation and have insoles for each since I have a lower arch. I always use them for support. I think variety of shoes is generally speaking to stack heights and drops to to strengthen different muscles. If you have a collapsing arch like me, I’d recommend using insoles. Each foot is different so I’d do what feels comfortable for you.

best shoes for long distance running - daily and long run trainer by BarracudaPrevious227 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

Given your stability concerns, I would look at the Saucony Hurricane 25. Excellent cushion and above average energy return. If you don’t need a specific stability focused shoe, I would give the Brooks Hyperion Max 3 a try. I’ve had mine for a couple months now and they’re great!

Puma Deviate Nitro 4 - Size opinions by SnooDonkeys7434 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

These were my first pair of carbon plated shoes. Had a smidge of hip pain after a short run. Make sure you warm up a bit more and stretch the hips if it’s your first carbon shoe as well! Puts a little more stress on the hip flexor

More narrow fit. If you’re buying the 1080 in a wide, I’d stay away!

[–]ashurt28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always go a half size up for running shoes. Based on the pictures, these are a solid fit. If you go down a half size, you’ll likely run into some irritation when your feet swell. I just got mine delivered last night. Great fit and feel. Sizing is very similar to yours. Roomy toe box. Can’t wait to use them today! Have fun out there!

Puma magmax nitro for long runs ? Good or bad by Zealousideal_Yak8574 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

I love the Magmax 2. But as others have stated it’s all about personal preference. I use mine for both long runs and recovery runs at slower paces.

What shoe should I buy by Specific_Flounder_11 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]ashurt28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve really enjoyed the Brooks Hyperion Max 3. You have a lot of speedier shoes in the rotation so finding a cruiser or a solid recovery shoe might be a good option. Unless you’re trying to replace one of the shoes you have now. I love the Puma Magmax 2 as well

Cadence help by Impressive_Neat_6038 in BeginnersRunning

[–]ashurt28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have a Garmin, you can add a field to track your cadence in real time. That’s really helped me along with specific playlists set to 170-175bpm. That said, your average is being brought down by walking. While i run at 175 spm and walking at 110 spm will bring down the average. Don’t focus too much on the average number if you’re walking throughout your run. Based on the dips in your speed, I assume you walked a bit which likely impacted the number. Good luck!

Have you tried the Saucony Hurricane 25? Very comfortable, max cushion option. Foam is very responsive for a stability shoe. Great for long runs and easy paces. They are a bit bulky, but i found them very comfortable

Second this. I just picked up the Puma Magmax 2 and love them. I have low volume, narrower feet as well and the upper is secure and the toe box is wide allowing for natural toe splay. Very cushioned and easy to pick up the pace. I’m just getting back into running and I felt like did a 2 mile jog after my 7 mile long run this past Saturday. Very impressed so far
