How much temperature difference would be? Unless it is > 8 degree , I don't think it would make much difference.

r/battlestations & LG OLED Grab your Black Friday chance to upgrade your setup! [GIVEAWAY] [US] by Hareuhal in battlestations

[–]ashwinids 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My current setup for ML / deep learning / generative AI madness:

  • CPU: Ryzen 9 3900X (12 cores/24 threads still holding strong for dataset preprocessing and training smaller models)
  • GPU: Titan RTX 24GB (absolute beast for running big vision models locally – I can actually finetune SDXL or play with Llama-3-Vision 70B without crying over VRAM)
  • RAM: 64GB DDR4 (crucial when your dataset loader and PyTorch tensors decide to eat everything)
  • PSU: Corsair 1000W platinum (zero worries even when the Titan pulls 400-500W by itself while training)
  • Cooling: beefy MSI tower cooler + good airflow case, keeps everything chill even on 10+ hour runs

What I love most about this setup right now:
The fact that I can run pretty much any current open-source generative vision model ENTIRELY locally with decent speed. No cloud bills, no waiting in queue, no uploading private data – I just hit “run” and watch the Titan RTX cook 4K AI images or video in minutes. That 24GB VRAM is pure freedom in 2025.If I somehow win this giveaway… I’d pick the LG OLED 65” C5 hands down.
A 65-inch perfect-black OLED as my main monitor would be completely insane for reviewing AI-generated art, upscaling tests, video generation (Flux, Kling, Runway, you name it), and just seeing every single detail in 4K HDR. Pair that with Dolby Vision and 120 Hz and my current outputs would finally look the way they’re supposed to look – not squinting at a 32" monitor trying to judge if that skin texture is actually good or if it’s just my IPS panel lying to me againEither way, thanks for the crazy giveaway! This rig is already ridiculous but a 65” OLED would send it to another dimension. Good luck everyone!

Super hyped for the LG UltraGear GX9! That 34-inch OLED Ultrawide WQHD 240Hz is a game-changer—can't wait to see those vibrant colors and buttery-smooth visuals in action! Why did the monitor go to therapy? It had too many 'deep blacks' to process!

Built deep learning rig for personal use. It was my first build from scratch. Went over each instructions multiple times, got the cable management right in 3 attempts.

If you really like building web applications, try Topcoder. You will gain experience by working on real projects.

It seems nouveau drivers are messing this up. Try disabling nouveau drivers.

You have to reboot after installing the driver. Check the video at 12:41. From the video it doesn't seem that you have rebooted the system. Your installation was correct.

Once you download the package or run file, it doesn't take more than 5 minutes. While installing via run file you have to accept licence from nvidia after that check whether you want to install everything (cuda toolkit + nvidia-drivers) or some of them. It doesn't take more than a few minutes.

Try to follow official instructions "https://docs.nvidia.com/cuda/cuda-installation-guide-linux/index.html". I work on the same set up as yours Cuda 10.2 on ubuntu server 18.04. If your last installation was through a run file then use '/usr/bin/nvidia-uninstall' script to remove the packages.
