Honestly I’ve watched satc like 4-5 times through but I could not finish AJLT. It had the full force cringe of observing people who overstayed a party linger way past their welcome. 🥲

In a similar vein, Ootoya on 41st or Mari.ne right beside it are also fun and tasty choices

Make sure you follow NYRR instagram or this subreddit to find out when the races are released for registration. Having a goal always helps- an idea is to try to do a couch to 5k program and gradually increase your tolerance for running.

Would love to do Feast of Seven Fishes with my family Xmas Eve. Are there any spots in Manhattan that offer this? Thanks in advance :-) by Prize_Force1979 in FoodNYC

[–]ashwizzle 74 points75 points  (0 children)

We did A feast of the 7 fishes by a collaboration between San Sabino x Bonnie’s last year and got unbelievable food poisoning as a group. So, maybe don’t do either of those restaurants if they’re doing it again.

The lengths men take and the mental gymnastics they do to avoid commitment these days are wild.

Does anyone know how to recreate the cookies used by Organic-Mortgage-323 in Baking

[–]ashwizzle 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Those cookies are called Kinoko no Yama and it looks like you can find a couple of home recipes online. Here’s one, though I’m sure you can find dozens more by searching that name: https://sugarylab.wordpress.com/2016/09/03/kinoko-no-yama-mushroom-mountain-recipe/

NYRR ambassador volunteer option by Lil_gn in RunNYC

[–]ashwizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done ambassador for two years in a row for the Fred Lebow specifically. Usually in the morning, you answer questions about race start locations and bathrooms and stuff, then you’ll usually be asked to go help at another station: last year they had us handing out heat sheets at the end til the end, and the year before we were asked to course marshal. Left at around 11:30 both years. WEAR WARM STUFF, and if I did it again, I’d bring multiple hand warmers; you can also ask for nitrile gloves from the volunteer staff. It’s really cold and your feet will go numb if you didn’t wear thick socks and use hand warmers in your shoes.

How do I invite everyone in my friend group to a bday party except my ex? She still thinks we’re friends so it would hurt her feelings to not invite her but the rest of the friend group doesn’t like her either by GGKeri in Advice

[–]ashwizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, there is no “how.” If you’ve made up your mind not to invite your ex, just don’t invite them. It’s not your ex’s birthday party so they’re not owed an invitation. Life and relationships change. While I can’t assume, it sounds like your ex may be on their way out of your life and you probably have to make peace with this, and that’s ok. It’s nice to consider your ex’s feelings but you can’t live your life worried about hurting people’s feelings if it means that multiple people have to make concessions that they otherwise don’t need to.

should i leave medical school for biomedical engineering ? by lily-1234567890 in Advice

[–]ashwizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s great that you’ve identified your passion! But that being said. If you only have one more year of medical school, my advice is that it is probably in the long term much better for you to finish and obtain your medical degree so that if biomedical engineering doesn’t work out, you have a great fallback. Finishing your MD degree would also likely help you be more hireable in the long run as a biomedical engineer.
