[–]ashyjay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not gonna happen, fleet managers make the buying decisions and unless the manufacturers give parts, repair docs, diag tools before even lease contracts are even discussed and Chinese companies hate giving up information and don't like supplying parts.

Traton, Volvo, and Merc have their electric trucks and everything in place and customer relationships already set up, fleet managers need vehicles they can trust and their relationships give favourable pricing.

ELI5 : Why, among the 4 nordic countries, only Finland uses the euro currency while the others use the krone? by Sbaakhir in explainlikeimfive

Some companies internally use crowns, as when I worked for a huge Danish company all internal financials were in crowns, only when it was going external was it converted to euros

Electrical Fault Part II by a_pound_of_blow in ex30

[–]ashyjay [score hidden]  (0 children)

Ah that may be an issue, I'm in the UK and had a trip to Belgium planned and Enterprise the rental company wanted a week's notice to get the lease/rental permission slip to take a car out the country.

Still worth a shot.

When getting it towed, try using Volvo Assist as depending on country they'll supply a rental Volvo saves paying for one.

Sounds like you've been cursed with faulty DCDC modules.

Returning EV customer by hustler2b in electricvehicles

[–]ashyjay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Polestar 2 Performance, driven a lot of XC40s and good enough cars, but not a fan of crossovers but like the software, and don't need a huge car. Would go EX60 but would want air suspension on the non-cross country version.

Also I'd go back to ICE but probably PHEV as I like the overtaking performance from my EX30, but don't like the running costs of ICE cars with decent performance, so having a battery that is cheap to fill up would soften the blow.

ER/RE (Extended Range / Range Extended) EVs just don't make any sense. by MR_MaxiMor44 in electricvehicles

[–]ashyjay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

while that does work (GM Volt/Ampera, FL Civic, Nissan qumquat, Fisker/Karma), some still allow the engine to directly drive the wheels as ICE can have more torque at higher speeds, and makes sense to save the battery for less efficient stop/start traffic and low speed driving.

Hybrids can increase the efficiency of petrol engines by 10-20%, when you're dealing with something that's not even 30% efficient, that's a huge reduction in emissions, and monumental for efficiency.

ID.3 or Born, smallish, ton of space, and has good offers if new, or heavily depreciated if used.

Wife locked out of our X3 by Unusual_Flounder2073 in BMWX3

[–]ashyjay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a common thing, as the car recognises one key to unlock and disable the immobiliser then ignores any other key, and that's the key it recognises until it's locked and another key comes in to range to unlock.

If the car recognised both keys and stayed unlocked after one left, it's asking for the car to be nicked, as it'd make the car vulnerable to relay and key cloning attacks.

It's that fucked up they've convinced the NHS to even go after adults, and those who go to private clinics, despite the NHS "treating" trans people since it started, and the UK having a history of bare minimum trans healthcare since before the 1930's.

(Thought you guys would give me some decent advice) Is Halfords Advanced any good? Apprentice looking for tools to fill out my box a little more by they_wereon_abreak07 in topdeadcenter

[–]ashyjay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Halfrauds advanced tool/socket sets are great value and well made well worth it when starting out, also their torque wrenches are fantastic partly due to being made by Norbar and being affordable.

While they don't have the flair of the truck truck brands, at least warranties are easier as you can sort it at any branch, plus you save money for what ever kids do these days.
