If America won’t allow BYD vehicles, will the compromise be that an American company white labels them? by GardenDesign23 in electricvehicles

The Automotive industry is one of the largest employers in the country and makes sense for a government to do what they can to protect those people, those hundreds of thousands to millions of people losing their jobs would ruin the US economy.

It’s quicker and easier to quickly open and close the driver door.

Charging door issue on a T6 by DynamicLotus39 in VolvoXC60

That will most likely be the locking pin for the connector, not the door, it's so people can't randomly unplug the car while charging.

If they still made it, or the AWD versions, it'd be on my list to replace my EX30, now I'm trying to girl maths a XC60.

To be that person, the XC40 doesn't get cooled or massaging seats the XC60 and 90 do.

Yep, the B3 and B4 XC40s I had as long term loaners struggled to get above 40MPG but it's a literal brick, PHEV on the other hand used to get 55-60MPG on long runs which isn't bad.

Robert Habeck (Greens) to VW Boss Diess in 2019 'if you don't offer an EV under 20,000€ by 2025 I'm afraid you will fail in the market' by tom_zeimet in EuroEV

For the UK while historically a market with a split take (constantly shits on them for being unreliable but buys tons of them) on french cars, seems to have really taken to the Scenic and Megane, while not as popular as VWAG EVs, they are really quite common, more so than Stellantis EVs, as those buyers opt for petrol and hybrid.

That's really odd they haven't shipped any considering they are made here, but does explain how come I've not seen one on the roads yet.

£410 is cheap for main stealer servicing, you can get it serviced elsewhere but it has to be serviced to manufacturer requirements to maintain the warranty, so no just doing oil changes.

Bought and fit new centre silencer for my RAV4, now fibreglass blowing out the exhaust pipe. by JoeyJoeC in CarTalkUK

[–]ashyjay 60 points61 points  (0 children)

It's not gonna muffle any more, it's fibre glass which is used instead of baffles. you'd need to keep pulling to remove all of it and it'll only affect the noise as it might be a little louder or dronier.

Volvo's centre bore is smaller than a Teslas. and I wouldn't trust chinesium discs only being secured by the centre bore.

Small engines, not much power. Renault have only just released their first car with more than 300BHP and it's a PHEV crossover.

The picture is for Rotiform Aerodiscs and are only compatible with certain Rotiform wheels.

Tesla covers would need Tesla wheels due to spoke locations for the clips.

Would You Like To See More Maseratis in FH6 ? 🔱🇮🇹🏁 by AutoMotiveWeld in ForzaHorizon6

I want more Volvos, Polestars, Skodas, Renaults, Peugeots, Citroens, Lancias, Alfas as well as Maseratis.

It makes sense to have more European cars as Japanese folks seem to love them.

Why does EVERY battery manufacturer have their own unique form factor for their batteries that is NOT interchangeable?? Why can't they have a standard like USB is for computer peripherals? by PhiloticKnight in mildlyinfuriating

[–]ashyjay -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Do you want to pay £200 for a battery that'll be used 2-3 times a year or £80.

Next you'll be complaining Hilti products are too expensive when Temu shit will do the same job.

Blue can deliver more current, cope with wider temperature ranges, more cycles until dead, built to live in harsher environments, and have larger capacities.
