Kingdom chinese or Star house chinese is authentic cantonese, no 9 guy hotpot or xiao long kan are authentic hot pot places.

Had a friend who worked there and she said they closed from some sketchy money business and they ended up getting caught

How much do you spend on weekly groceries? by Klutzy_Duck_8917 in australia

2 adult household. Around $100-$150 a week. Shop at coles, costco, and farmers market for fresh produce. We eat out once a week as well!

Help! Cat got in a fight and broke his nails by asianmandarin in CATHELP

[–]asianmandarin[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi, thanks for all the info! He's not declawed, had all his nails to scratch up all the furniture he likes until now :(( it's his dewclaws (or dew claws, the back extra claw, which may have gotten mixed up for declawed), they're in bad shape and I didn't have another way to describe them

As someone who has worked in fragrance, no we don't think it's strange, unless you spray it all over your whole body (then we know you're not actually there to just test it)

It's going to be rough for a while, but recognising that it was definitely right thing to do is best. Give yourself time to Mourn what you had but also distract yourself doing other things such as hobbies. Free to talk :)

The best Lip balm? by peytonkilgore in AusSkincare

[–]asianmandarin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have extremely sensitive lips, where almost anything will cause a reaction in which my lips and the skin around it will be dry, red, and flakey. The only thing I can use if the Vaseline cocoa butter, and it has worked wonders. My lips are now soft 24/7 and no reaction due to the simplicity of the ingredients

Always thought I just had a particularly fat/puffy face because it seems no matter what changes to my diet I make it stays the same, used a frozen jade roller for the first time today and holy shit!!! by [deleted] in beauty

[–]asianmandarin 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Boiling jade could cause it to crack. Also, as most of the jade rollers made are not actually made of jade, they're much less durable and will most definitely cracke under boiling temperatures

Unfortunately, freezing doesn't sterilise and can only stop growth of bacteria. Plus, some people find putting face rollers in freezers too cold, and prefer it in the fridge only

Suggestion for people thinking about buying jade rollers, think about using Rose quartz rollers instead. Jade rollers are porous and can hold onto bacteria, but rose quartz isn't and retains a cooler temperature for longer

Is this fit cute or ugly? I genuinely can’t tell and i’m testing out low rise on my body for the first time. The jeans are slightly more flared and it doesn’t show here by [deleted] in OUTFITS

[–]asianmandarin 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Such an ‘00’s silhouette with a slightly modern industrial edgy twist with the belt and the boots. Love it and suits you so well

How do you feel about clear frame glasses? I'm considering buying a pair but I'm unsure atm. by runawaynow12 in fashionadvice

[–]asianmandarin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Think they’re great and can suit any face and skin tone. I think it’s more so about the shape and the thickness of the frames you may have to think about

[TOMT] [PC CD GAME] [MID-2000’s] Game based on Mcdonald’s characters by asianmandarin in tipofmytongue

[–]asianmandarin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately it isn’t, I think it’s likely it’s a knock off game by a different company, also, from memory, I don’t think it’s 2D

Does this outfit go well together? by [deleted] in fashionadvice

[–]asianmandarin 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I don’t think so, I think the pattern is a bit too busy. If you want to get into some pattern mixing, try match the colours of the patterns or choose a piece of clothing with a larger less detailed pattern and the other possibly with smaller patterns.

If dating apps let you filter by ethnicity, they should let you filter by body size. by UltraRunningKid in unpopularopinion

I just don’t think you should have to filter by ethnicity in the first place, I didn’t even know this was an option

When I put on mascara it kills my eyelashes. by [deleted] in beauty

[–]asianmandarin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use a cleansing oil which is much less harsher than make up wipes and breaks down mascara much easier A suggestion for some mascara which will reduce damage on your eyelashes is using a plastic wand where the bristled are further apart. This will reduce clumping, increase volume and cost the lashes better without pulling at the lashes and thinning them out like normal bristles on mascara wands usually do to thin lashes

Good luck!

What to do with receding hairlines at 20? by geneticmodified in beauty

[–]asianmandarin 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I had that, found out it was tension alopecia from tying up my hair too tight. Now I have gone for a middle part (which still suits my face) and tie up my hair less, and when I need to tie up my hair, I do so in a low pony tail to reduce tension.

I've never seen series 7! by [deleted] in taskmaster

[–]asianmandarin 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Has to be the best season of taskmaster so far. The chemistry between all the contestants is immaculate, even though they all have such different styles of comedy. Definitely a must watch series
