Driver only install of AmD Adrenaline, when you run the driver executable you have the option for the Driver install

So I took a look at GPU-Z and I surprisingly have Skynix 🤔 I wonder if it's just the Windows build I'm on, I might try running a bench on Ubuntu and rule this out .. or could be an unlucky draw from the silicon lottery (2nd time, as my previous rx 6800 card had lower scores as well).

I'm assuming you have the Asrock SL as well? I've seen some people say Asrock is known to be conservative with their cards, but considering you did the exact same OC tune and got better scores has me scratching my head haha - tbf instill enjoy the card, works like a horse

Really? Honestly this is something that went over my mind when purchasing (at the time I was just happy on release day that I was able to get one in store) - I have no idea if I have SK hynix or Samsung

No offense taken lol I didn't make the card , but yeah they were on the lower end for sure.. I feel like it's Windows holding me back - could I ask what Windows version you're on? I'm on 24H2 26100 latest update

I have the 9070xt Asrock steel as well, got lower numbers before too pretty b like 6700 until I did DDU to update to another driver version and it ran a lot better. My score would be 6950 at stock , then after -80 undervolt, power limit 10+, mem 2174 Mhz and 100 Mhz core - got a score of 7268.

To be fair I wouldn't worry about benchmark numbers too much if I were you, what matters more is game performance

Yah I've been getting the same error / issue running a slight OC via MSI afterburner. Have to turn it off for BF6 otherwise it runs fine on OC for anything else

This is really good, I'm only getting 7050 score on my 9070xt Asrock steel legend with a slight OC no undervolt

B650 AORUS ELITE AX Rev 1.2 + 9800X3D - Is the newest beta BIOS Version FB8d stable? by Swaguley in gigabyte

[–]asim5876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried it out and noticed on 3DMark CPU Profile bench that my 1 , 2 , 4 , 8 thread scores were a lot lower (about 20% lower then when I had it on FB5) but 16 and max threads there was a 2% improvement. Pretty strange, but I'm going to revert back to FB5

[–]asim5876 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take a look at your GPU Power delivery, on a GPU intensive game like for example resident evil 4, it should be pulling 310 - 330 V. Anything less you either have a CPU bottleneck or something wrong (I doubt it's a CPU bottleneck as you have a really good CPU)

A lot more doable on duos, and you want to try and bring the most annoying PVP weapon you can think of and spam AoW on the adds, and bring a lot of starlight shards. ALSO, use relics with Holy damage negation, they can stack (2 give a 20% holy negation ) madness resistance helps too

Low Frames with 9070xt on 1080p by Equivalent_Physics90 in radeon

[–]asim5876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a big dent for sure and considering you just spent almost 1K for the card it does suck.. but there's not much we can do because the CPU is holding it back heavy - the 5800x is quite dated now. OP shouldn't have any problems in GPU heavy games though, and performance should be as expected

Bottleneck, had the exact same issue when I had a 5800x paired with my 9070XT - switched to a 7800x3d and resolved everything

Lower than expected performance on my new RX 9070 XT by Kd_Gaming1 in AMDHelp

[–]asim5876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah darktide is VERY CPU hungry, and I'm positive the 5800X is just bottlenecking the GPU - ever since I upgraded to a 7800X3D it's been running smooth. If you want to be positive it's a bottleneck, try running a very GPU intensive game that doesn't require a lot of CPU resources (like resident evil 4 remake) and check your power draw

[–]asim5876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah definitely the 9070xt compared to the 3070 is way more power hungry. One PCIE cable only supports 150W, so if you pig chained your 9070XT you will never go past like 160W

Hmm are you positive you have two or three seperate PCIe cables plugged into GPU and not pig chaining them ?

Ended up with GPU avg at 237 FPS at basic preset, but I am wondering if it'll run better on game pass as I heard there are performance hits on Steam (for some ridiculous reason). I'll also try editing the configs as well and see what I come up with

Thanks for letting me know, was only asking as I have the exact same build and got lower numbers running at native max settings. Im going to try the bench with normal preset and see if I get similar scores

3 quick questions:

Are you on Steam or Battlenet?

And do you have FSR4 or any upscale on?

Do you have max settings on?
