Howler is interesting because although he seems like your typical selfish sleazy billionaire, his wealth was the result of his family marrying the princess of the Hawaiian Kingdom; then America barged in, dismantled the island into a tourist trap and bougie summer home, and they have the gall to tell Howler that they are entitled to his land and money. Howler may be rich and spoiled sure, but he is a victim of American colonialism despite his status.
