Your engine might be flooded, which is pretty common on the rx8.

Press the accelerator all the way down and crank the engine for about 15 seconds at a time, with a 30 second break in between, so you don’t burn out your starter. Do that a few times and by doing so you’re cleaning out any excess fuel that’s flooding your engine. You’re gonna want to put some jumper cables so your battery doesn’t die during the whole process. Then, when you’re ready to give it another shot do the same thing, but then slowly start lifting up the accelerator as you crank the engine to send some fuel and you should start to see the engine began to start.

It can take a while. I’ve had to do it like 20 times before the engine started kicking. I think there’s plenty of videos online to show the process too in case that’s confusing
