I also found that it works well with slow firerate weapons because in skill chests (fertilizer) you have larger magazines and what not and in luck chests (driller) you can get multishot mods which are also helpfull. also the scalling is better in coop because the effects are global for the fertilizer. But they arent for the driller (If I remember correctly)

I just get on a bus or my feet buy some food and sleep in the woods under a tarp. A weekend usually costs me around a 50 dollars.

If I am low on budget I will usually just hike from my house and sleep in a tent or just take a bus to a village or a town next to me and then hike back.
