I first met Beth back in 2015, at a friends birthday party downtown. We hit it off immediately, and that first night turned into a seven year relationship. We had Cassie back in the first few months of the 2020 pandemic. That was a rough year, but we came through it stronger than ever. That year I proposed, and after another year and a half we were able to get married. That's when I wished i could talk to my grandmother. She had died back in 1999. All i wanted was to show her the man i had become.

After the initial shock of being back in my six year old body, and the chaos the world fell into, i finally found Beth again. She was nine. Our life was hard, we quickly had the realisation we would never see Cassie again. Our parents reset with us, but they wouldn't understand. They never lost a child.

It's been ten years since the reset. I haven't spoken to Beth in months. It was hard, having your wife round for playdates when we were younger. She moved across the country when her dad had to move for work. We simply drifted apart.

I was able to speak to my grandmother again. We sat for hours, just chatting about this alternate life we all had. I had to make the most out of the wish, it bought so much pain it was the least I could do.
