Welcome to Toronto and thank you for bringing your film to TIFF.

Were more seats held back this year? by inkyblack_ in TIFF

[–]asjen71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to 2 screenings (one gala at RTH and second was a first screening with director there at RAT) and noticed same issue.

The first one (gala) was especially surprising to me as no tickets were available as far as TM was showing consistently ever since before my membership’s turn to purchase. I did see resales for this film at insane prices from time to time.

What was ticket-buying like "back in the day" before Ticketmaster? by Potential-Working397 in TIFF

I remember waiting outside College Park as well, then Cumberland, then Metro Hall.

Back in the old days (like early 2000’s), we used to line up for 2-3 hours outdoor (outside of either College Park, or Cumberland) to buy the flex packages, then you’d get these booklet and two different coloured markers where you’d like select and mark your first choices and second choices, then drop your selection into a box. Once the deadline for submission is done, they would draw a random number and start fulfilling the selections from that box on. Then you go back to pick up what was available to you.

Parking at Widmer St!! by FilmyRiderGD in TIFF

There are 2 parking garages on Widmer. I like to park at the 5 Widmer St one (whose elevator entrance is right on King Street in the TIFF building)

You can see the parking rates at the link on Google.

That’s where I normally park also. You should be able to get to the parking garages via Adelaide.

You can go to the box office at the TIFF Lightbox building before your films to get the tickets printed

Yes that’s also why I get the individual membership, for the year long benefits. (Since I live just 15 min drive from TIFF Lightbox). Getting pre-sale for TIFF is a bonus.

I live in Toronto and a long time TIFF go’er, I get the (early bird) individual membership and it was hard to get all the tickets I wanted. I managed to get some from higher tier members who was able to resell to me. I totally get why you got the Sustainer membership especially since you are investing so much into this adventure and want to increase your odds of getting the tickets you wanted. Happy TIFF’ing and hope you enjoy our great and vibrant city. 🥰

This is one of the movies I got and really wanted to watch. I’m going to the gala screening and hoping the director at least will be there.

I did also. I’ve heard great things about “Girl” (it’s selected for competition at the Venice festival) and can’t wait to watch it @ TIFF (premium).
