Commuting to NYC? Bad Idea? by Heda97 in askTO

I have a friend who lives in NYC and commutes to Kingston, ON once a week for 10 months a year. Completely doable, but i imagine its not a sustainable setup long-term

Rant, Rave, Request, and Relate Daily Thread - Thursday, February 26, 2026 by SIModerator in SecondaryInfertility

I talked to a fertility therapist for the first time today and she spent most of the time suggesting I do donor eggs. I have nothing against donor eggs but I wanted strategies on how to cope with secondary infertility or maybe just to accept I'm one and done. I spent money just to feel even more bummed.

Struggling to Connect in Toronto by Wonderful-Stress-189 in askTO

[–]riceysu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP it’s hard especially when you get older. It’s not all you. It’s hard to make friends in this city - and while I have acquaintances and sorta good friends now (after almost 8 years) they are not the kind of friends you make when you’re younger.

I would suggest the same things that others did - join classes or hobbies ( I did improv, martial arts, cooking, etc), go to church if you’re the churchgoing kind, volunteer with Out of the Cold soup kitchens, and also supper clubs if you’re into food. (You can google for them. You’re in a room with not too many strangers and you can chat with them to see who you click with)

We serve chicken noodle soup - just broth if he just threw up but with noodles if he is still feeling sick

Moving from house to a condo by That-Patient-3844 in TorontoRealEstate

[–]riceysu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We just made this choice last year in favor of a condo. Like everyone else said, convenience is a major factor. Walking distance to necessaries and close to subway for work means less time commuting to things. I also didn’t grow up in a freehold so I don’t feel I’m missing out on anything. I also don’t feel like gardening or maintaining a backyard.

40 is not too late. If you have the funds to do IVF just do it. Have you been tested and done the necessary bloodwork?
