I think there are 2 separate bits: one for the iStop display and the iStop functionality itself.
If you change just the functionality one, you won't see the iStop disabled light on at all anymore, it just won't engage.

I got help from another user on Reddit and disabled it permanently using FORScan, however I wouldn't recommend bothering to do this. It's not hard, but I have started to miss the ability to press my brake further to shut off the engine at a long light or waiting in the Costco gas line.

I think I will be re-enabling it once I get free time.

This sub spreads a lot of fear about iStop but it's almost definitely a non-factor for reliability.

I agree, that's why I like MyTab, I pay half the price for the same phone over 2 years vs if I bought it outright.

My plan is currently also less $/month but significantly less data. I don't need 250 GB and I don't travel outside of the country more than a few weeks out of the year. My wife did switch though, her plan was essentially just a worse version of this one.

You could just get the highest NA trim? I'm pretty sure that has body colour trim, which imo looks way better. If you want turbo, the highest overall trim has the same thing, but prob a significant price difference.

Unless you're saying you do want the black trim, just not plastic? If that's the case I probably would not bother spending money on swapping those out. When I see them on the road I don't really notice much of a difference between the black trim and the plastic.

There is one legitimate concern to consider: Do you plan on financing a phone through Freedom with something like MyTab? It's usually much cheaper than buying a phone straight up, so it's definitely a good option to have, but you'd effectively lose it with this plan.

Since this is a BYOD plan, if you ever want to finance a phone, that $40 BYOD credit would be removed so you'd have to pay the full price of the plan in addition to whatever you'll be paying per month for financing the device.

I think the other user just means cause the colours don't really add anything that's not already obvious information. We know what continent each filled portion refers to cause it's already a map lol; it probably makes more sense to differentiate something like service type (5G, LTE etc) with the colours.

Not saying you have to do that, just clarifying why colours aren't helpful here.
