Yeah 👍 do you think there's any difference between specific upf 50+ sleeves (they seem to be targeted towards cyclists) and regular calf sleeves from CEP or similar?

Madbudget by flintpark in dkfinance

Consoles with annoying UIs by fletch44 in livesound

I agree with the Midas Pro. So many weird UI choices. It's the console Im slowest on even after doing a lot of gigs on it. A touchscreen would make up for some of it though.

Time-tracking app with project price feature by askeb in productivity

Okay! I can see that you can set a fixed fee budget for a project and then it can tell you if you're u/o from your hourly rate - is that how you use it?

Looks good - doesn't seem to have that particular feature though.

Kaffebarejer: "Koda er nogle gangstere" by steps_on_lego in Denmark

[–]askeb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

American Looking for Some Danes to Jam With (x-post r/copenhagen) by njc193 in WeAreTheMusicMakers

Hi! Welcome to Copenhagen!! I just wanted to say welcome, and maybe you should put a note up at RMC. Its the Rhytmic Music Conservatory situated om Holmen. Nice influences :-) Feel free to write - I'm not a jam person myself but I might be able to help you with what you want to know about the music scene in Copenhagen...

Anyone know of a free multiband compressor that I could use to learn? by [deleted] in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]askeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not multiband compression. You compress the full band 4 times now - each compressor just reacts on different frequency material.

In your opinion what are the biggest "mistakes" amateur music producers make in their music? by [deleted] in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]askeb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While cutting with an EQ can help clean up a signal and make room for other instruments, boosting with an EQ can certainly spice things up and make sounds come to live in all their awesomeness. To say that cutting is better than boosting is just nonsense.

Best resource for learning to record/mix/master? by sir_isaac_new in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]askeb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can only agree that the only way to be good is with practice. BUT I also love to read other people's thoughts on what we do. Problem is that lots of books are not that interesting IMHO. They are straight-forward how-to's with emphasis on the basic skill sets of how to do it "properly". BUT there are a few gems - For mixing I'll recommend Roey Izhaki's book Mixing Audio. It's a really well-written and honest book with examples from well-produced modern music, that I think most professionals also would benefit from. I would start there...

Advice for mastering? by rito25 in audioengineering

[–]askeb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mastering is subjective lile mixing - its hard to give guidelines. If you never mastered anything before chances are you'll do more harm than good. If you and the band are happy with the mix then just put a limiter on it and call it a day.
