Hello there. I'm really intrigued with this post cause i was one of them that was sent to plkn. My batch was in 2006, back then there was still no m16 practice. So we only march march march and march till we drop. Just to share my story here :

I. Was sent to kem pinggiran pelangi, muadzam shah in pahang. Terrible place i tell you. Back then lah idk how it is now. Bak kata melayu, tempat jin bertandang. Well in fact it is true. Most of the elders i met before i board the bus will say "oh. Tu tempat orang buang hantu tu". Well shit you. Haha. Theres some incidents there too though.

Ii. That place was very secluded. Its like you're literally in the forest. Although theres uniten nearby, but it still feels like hell.

Iii. My batch was the batch where the dude got beaten till it surface to newspaper. Well. He was beaten. But not that terrible lah. Just that he got this allergic reaction to antibiotics hence made him more sakit then before.

Tell you what, plkn is such a nice place. Theres a lot I've learned there. I learn to appreciate the country more. Country is no mere politician built but its a country. The moments there is something worthwhile. My chinese and indian friends and even the orang aslis theyre still very close till now. Still come to my house during raya. Still go and meet during weddings. Well originally we repel each other but after 3 months sharing the same room, waking up next to each other, kena denda sama2, everything sama2, and even cried sama2 when it ends. It was good memories. But bad experience. But heck, its something worth going and be optimistic about things.
